MissMorrigan -> RE: Brigitte Bardot on trial for Muslim slurs (4/19/2008 6:53:46 AM)

Please tell me you aren't referring to YOUR point... has it been sharpened lately, Unka?

MsM I dont think we are derailing anything. It about BB her attitude to animals, immigrant and "alien" customs and PC response to BB's attitude.
The fact that the laydees were so eager to "boot" BB is amusing. To me anyway.
Back at you hotpants

MissMorrigan -> RE: Brigitte Bardot on trial for Muslim slurs (4/19/2008 7:02:35 AM)

Sure, I realise that, but each topic is likely to swamp the overall intention of the OP.

As for BB herself, it's admirable to go to the lengths she has for animals, however, don't you agree that same passion should equally be applied to her fellow man? She's not only racist, but homophobic, is quite proud of her prejudices and is unashamed at inciting hatred. Simply b/c she fights for the rights of animals doesn't make her a nicer person, it's a smokescreen...

If you think criticising her hassome semblance of jealousy as its basis, forget it, she was a stunner back in her day and I still gasp at her seeming beauty whenever I see clips of her former films, but her viewpoints regarding other cultures/homosexuality still make her a very ugly person.

seeksfemslave -> RE: Brigitte Bardot on trial for Muslim slurs (4/19/2008 7:13:12 AM)

MsM bringing in homophobia is a hijack say I  as I try to slap MsM's luscious bottom, only to emphasise the error of her ways you understand ?he he he

If you realise you went too far in criticising BBs personally, which I think you do, then thank me for pointing it out and explain to Kitten, who hasn't got it yet OK?

Level, will you stop at nothing, sir ? Have you no limits, no shame ?

MissMorrigan -> RE: Brigitte Bardot on trial for Muslim slurs (4/19/2008 7:23:46 AM)

Kindly point out where I went too far, Unks. For many years she capitalised on her looks to further herself. I stated that inciting hatred towards any group makes her an ugly individual, that has nothing whatsoever to do with looks - it is indicative of character which is projected outwards and that can be clearly seen. I further stated that the 'dumb' animals she fights so vehemently for would also share mine, and many others' viewpoints if they had a voice and weren't so dependent on her for their survival. So, explain which line I crossed. As for mentioning her homophobia, I felt that pertinent given that her views aren't restricted to one group of persons, but tends to extend towards many others, homosexuals being another.

The League of Human Rights are right for suing her and I sincerely hope they succeed in silencing her. She stated recently, "the intrinsic and fundamental values of mankind no longer exist", she's right, and is the poster child for that b/c it's through such ignorance and intolerance that we have such situations occurring.

Mornin', CJan. Hmm, holly helped me find my keys earlier, maybe she can put her hand on my scruples......[8D]

She went from sexpot to crackpot. French former film star Brigitte Bardot went on trial this week for insulting Muslims, the fifth time she's faced charges of "inciting racial hatred" over her thoughts on Islam.

But we have to be careful when we start ridiculing her. The fact is, hate crime prosecution seems highly inconsistent these days — reactive only to complaints made by "anti-racist" groups only concerned with offending the sensitive feelings of radical Islam. This seems strange, especially in Europe, where radical clerics can openly preach the death of innocent civilians without risk of deportation or losing their government benefits.

Well, she'll have to find them before she can squeeze them, my friend. [:D]

I appreciate that sentiment... when my boy knows I'm about to get to grips with his playful twins I swear they attempt re-entry!

Sanity -> RE: Brigitte Bardot on trial for Muslim slurs (4/19/2008 7:49:12 AM)

Well, no, that observation wasn't of you. Your words aren't so vile and disgusting, you seem balanced to me.

I don't advocate to being the nicest person on the planet, however, I'm fully aware of my character flaws and varying degrees in ugliness. We are much the same in that respect only.

Criticise me all you wish to, there is no way you can convince me that if those 'dumb' creatures had a voice and weren't dependent on such a person for their survival that they'd support Bardot and her racial incitement.

If she was gonna grip those, caution on her behalf would be prudent. [sm=crop.gif]

They have a "League?" Who formed this "League?"
Do they like, march in uniforms with insignia on them?
And if you say something that they don't like do they "mark" you?
I don't understand why Europeans have such a problem with free speech.
What if other Europeans had a "Free Speech League?"
And they wore uniforms and marched in the streets.
And what if those two groups started fighting and that fighting got so bad that they called on the U.S. to "help" Europe.

Well, it's nothing to do with one set valuing freedom more than the other.

The European and American ways are pragamatic solutions to their history.

The English way is a compromise between the European and American, which probably reflects the fact that we've enjoyed less turmoil than the Europeans but more than the Americans.

seeksfemslave -> RE: Brigitte Bardot on trial for Muslim slurs (4/19/2008 8:48:08 AM)

The laws in place in the UK to accuse anyone who  expresses hostility to any group with a hate crime have until recently worked only one way.
Now the PC brigade are waking up to the mess they have made they belatedly have sanctioned prosecutions against the worst and most persistant offenders , militant Muslims.

If BB wants to criticise homosexuals, Muslims or the way animals are treated she should have that right.
Am I wrong ?

popeye1250 -> RE: Brigitte Bardot on trial for Muslim slurs (4/19/2008 9:14:31 AM)

We have wacko groups in the U.S. like the "Southern Poverty Law Center" who *did good work 30 years ago* but have evolved into "PC" advocates as their client base has diminished.
Seems they don't want to dissolve the group so they go out looking for more "work". (Mission Creep)
I would think that if they could dissolve that group that would be a sign that they accomplished their goals.
I don't like any "group" public or private trying to dictate to The People what they can say or think.
That just smacks of McCarthyism!
