Status: offline 		First thing for anyone to understand is that i don't play the role of a submissive.  I am me.  What i looked for in a Dom is one who would accept me as me...without roles  or playing or pretending.  What he found is a companion, friend, submissive, partner.

i'm not a dom but i can give you some advice.  The question you should be asking yourself is: "What do I have to offer?"  The next question is "What direction do I want to travel?"  See, as JohnWarren so beautifully said, no relationship is going to work if people do not have common goals.  Common activities don't work in the long haul, common direction, goals, are what keeps a relationship growing. 

Keep clearly in mind that "Dominant" and "submissive" are adjectives, not nouns, just a shortened way of saying Dominant Person, or submissive person.  So when you stop to remember you are talking about people, not icons, the answer to your question should be clearer.

In all honesty, in a submissive (or a slave, if you will) I need someone who I can openly communicate with and to be able to trust her completely. Sure the values of Honesty, Loyalty, Respect and Obedience are key in this lifestyle but I need much more than that when looking for a slave.

A woman who has a personality and who is quick witted. Someone who isn't going to have a stupid look on her face when I say something sassy and smart. Making me laugh and making me good food is the key to my heart. Ha.

Attractive! No, I am not saying that I will only accept bombshells into my household. To me, attractive is whatever the hell I say it is. Yeah, I like thick chicks. Not.. DAYUM!!!!! Thick chicks but you know. Thick. I am currently considering a slave who thinks she is fat and basically not worthy of me. It is unfortunate that she doesn't see what I do. In my eyes she is a sweet looking girl next door. You girls are too hard on yourself.

I also need someone who is going to look after me. Sure, it is my job to protect but what about me? I too need that protection and love from a woman. I think its insane when I see men  on here acting like they are all big and mighty like they don't need anything emotionally from a woman. I need a woman by my side who is genuine and caring.

Romance anyone? Yes, I am a hopeless romantic and I need someone who is too. Just because I bought you roses doesn't mean I am not going to beat you with them later. haha

I don't know. I am sure you get the point that there is much more to obedience and respect when finding a slave who fits you perfectly.

Fortunately for me, I have already found that woman.  <-- gay smiley

Don't listen to these douche bags who say that all you need to do is "listen and do what you are told". I am sure they have a completely different agenda for you later on down the road and if you do end up with one of these guys.. make sure the body bag is at least your favorite color. Lol.

Status: offline 		hmm....I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for but being fairly new myself I have asked Doms a question like this, only asking what type of skills they look for in a sub. Most of the answers are like the ones you have seen, but one Dom did tell something rather useful.

He told me to think about what roles I enjoy, and I wouldn't mind doing, and then expand on that. For example, some people like to clean, you, if you are looking for a new skill that would make a new Dom happy, could learn A) the best way to clean something or some room, or B) learn how to make your own cleaning supplies. Or maybe you enjoy cooking. You could work on learning new things to cook, or maybe you could learn different affects of different spices, maybe learn how to make your drinks.

As you can tell these would be skills that are for outside the bedroom, and not something that would truly reflex your personality, if thats what your looking for, I'm afraid I can't help...

I don't think that's fair. If someone asks me a simple, apparently non-introspective question, I usually give a simple, apparently non-introspective answer. That doesn't mean I am not capable of greater subtlety as the discussion develops.
