COLUMBIA, Tenn. — A Maury County woman has been
charged with reckless homicide for what her attorney
says was the accidental asphyxiation of her husband
after he consented to be bound and gagged.
According to the arrest warrant, The Wife placed
duct tape over  the husbands mouth and eyes, put a
ball gag in his mouth and then tied a bandage around
his head, leaving only his nostrils showing.
She also tied his hands and legs behind his back. She
then left him for 20 hours.
"Apparently, this was not the first time it had
happened," Maury County Sheriff's Detective said of the bondage.

As negligent homicide. There are reason we never leave a bound person alone..Sadly-this only reenforces why.

She left him?! Tied, breathing restricted, and she left him alone? I don't care if it was 20 minutes, at that point, it's irresponsible, and she should absolutely be on trial for this.

Sadly, there is no magic pill for "stupid".  The one little twist that I wonder about after reading the entire story is the "other man" aspect. I wonder if it is a cuckhold relationship and this was their agreed upon dynamic.

Wow!  This is tragic and leaves a lot of questions as to the intent of what this woman was thinking when she left her husband alone for 20 minutes.   She could either be charged with First Degree Murder if she truly wanted to get rid of her husband so she can be single or Manslaughter because she did not intend to kill him.

Then someone mentioned this could have been a cuckolded relationship, too.

my gosh!!! i would never let someone leave me alone like that and if they wanted to...it would be time to find a new partner.  Its really sad, but this is what happens when you dont think while you play.  Sadly BDSM does not have room for people that can not think.

Bleh. I hope that woman gets a very light sentence. Not that she did it on purpose of course, but negligable homicide and all that.

At 20 HOURS, it sounds more like she was checking to be sure he was really, really dead.

First, I was shocked that she left him alone. Then when Geraldo Rivera defended her on the Morning Show, I was floored.

As bad as this news is, Im real happy and pleased with the reaction its getting. Not just in this thread but other places this news has been posted as well .....

I was fully expecting comments like 'Oh, I bet it wasent realy 20 hours and that his breating wasent realy that restricted. The police are just making up phoney stories because they all just hate sex' or like 'If this woman gets 12 years in jail then there is nothing stoping any oif the rest of us for getting 12 years in jail any time we tie someone up'

So may people distancing themselves from this woman realy makes me happy. Thanks folks! :)

This incident was geographically close to me.  I had a friend send me an Email saying "Was that anyone you know?  Please tell me you are not that stupid!"  I wrote back... "I prefer chains." 

This kind of idiotic activity is what gives the rest of us a 'bad name'.

While it has the trappings of BDSM and Kink the reality is you don't restrict someones breathing that severely and then wander off for 20 HOURS without there being some major risk of death or intent to cause bodily harm. Too many things can happen and frankly leaving someone untended for even a few minutes in such a predicament is extremely risky.
 
Letting them think you left is one thing, doing it another. A mental mind fuck can be nice, but a stint is jail isn't. Oh  it is possible to bite through a ball gag (done it) but once the duct tape goes over it, a useless activity you won't get air in. Clogged  sinuses during the period that the person is alone and the risk of death goes much higher, real fast.

I have my sinuse get stuffed up pretty bad at times. I wouldn't leave somone tied up and unable to breath for 20 hours considering it takes not even a tenth that time to suffocate. Thats just way beyond extreme.

Wow. That's one for the darwin awards.
It's too bad that this is the only sort of kink-related stuff that ever makes it to mainstream news (we never hear about the safe and happy kinksters who have been playing for their whole lives without incident). This sort of thing gives more fodder to closed minded people who want to do away with BDSM all together. Sigh.[sm=banghead.gif]

A while ago we had a male here in this forum asking questions about how long can someone be left alone bound and gagged. He seemed to think hours and days would be ok. Luckily, he got lots of replies advising him that it would NOT be a good idea, and why. Obviously this women didn't get any advice first. Unless she really did mean to kill him and used ignorance as an excuse.

sadly there are people who think they can have a go without really looking into what theyre doing.

maybe one day when something like this happens the media will call in respected members of the bdsm community to comment, it would be nice to think wouldnt it... or is that just pie in the sky.
