I also had mine out when laparascopic surgery was just being used to do it, and my surgeon chose to do it the old-fashioned way. He said it was too acute. For a year afterwards, I had more heartburn than before (well, I hardly EVER had heartburn before), I absolutely could not eat peanut butter, and I developed a sensitivity to dairy products (basically, lactose intolerance). All that resolved by the end of one year. Cali
