subversiveone -> Scam?!? (10/13/2005 1:50:16 PM)

Have you gotten this one yet?

quote:
My God, the hurt and pain these people have caused.
I have gotten letters asking why I do this.
but I have also gotten letters from people who have been taken for money, hurt,
stepped on, ask to give up the things that mean the most in their lives for someone who never wanted them at all.
We need protection and since there is no way for the good people at collarme to keep a list such as this
and since I lost the only slave I will ever care for, I want people to be able to have the great chance to have the type of BDSM life I did have collected a long list of posers.
Do you want to know if that great Dom youve met is too good to be true?
Do you want to know if that great slave is playing head games?
Is he a she? Is she a he?
ask me and I will share what I have on them.
and if you know someone who belongs on the list, let me know who and why

I can't put their nick obviously...
What a waste of time. Just wondered if you'd come across it and what your response was?

Haven't seen it but I could add I can definately see it coming from a few who post regularily on these board's. No it is not beneath them to write something like that.

anopheles -> RE: Scam?!? (10/13/2005 2:11:15 PM)

Sounds a little "scammy" to me. The folks on CollarMe that are serious, real people, don't typically make these type of posts. I think there might be some who have a "personal info" fetish, those that kinda get off to seeing if they can pry personal details about someone from an unsuspecting person.

subversiveone -> RE: Scam?!? (10/13/2005 2:13:59 PM)

well, it's great in theory, protecting us poor innocent people but it's ridiculous to think one could trust such info... i had proposed something similar a looong time ago but i quickly realised the ramifications. even our local newspaper ran a classified for a rental home by a crazed ex husband who thought it would be funny to torment the wife with calls. she was smart enough to just put her phone on mute and explain in the voicemail that it was a prank. i guess they refused to pull the ad...
i wonder if they're trying to sell this info? if so, i smell a lawsuit. assuming you could track this person down, which is also highly unlikely.

Phoenixandnika -> RE: Scam?!? (10/13/2005 2:15:01 PM)

This sounds like the collarme version of a witch hunt.
Do I think if true predators are about and known that they should be "outed"? Heck yes!

However, with a list like this I have to wonder about who is making it and why? I would also wonder who are they to judge who or what makes someone weither a dominate or submissive/ slave a player.

There is a saying my grams used to tell me, "When you point a finger at someone else remember you have 4 pointing back at yourself."

I am also wondering if making such a list and passing it around via unsolicited email violates any of the Collerme guidelines. I would think it would but then that is just my thoughts.

I got something similar. Replied that such a list was totally unfesable because it was so subjective. What seems horrible and player-ish to one person is another person's kink.

TearCollector -> RE: Scam?!? (10/13/2005 2:29:04 PM)

It is unbelievable how many ID's here are fake. Why I dont know. It seems that some are looking for money. IE: Nigeria and some of those other countries.

Others are looking for sex talk. They are guys posed as girls. It can be frustrating at times sorting them out. Part of the hazard I guess. Pot holes on the road. But we still drive the road. Im driving...LOLOL

Is there any way for me to get my name on the list please?

Ron, id still harrass you so stop fighting it and just send me all your money ;)[8D]

OscarHargraves -> RE: Scam?!? (10/13/2005 7:53:09 PM)

If you are for real then I understand your feelings. The problem is that I'm in New Mexico. What do I care about someone posing as someone else in New York or New Hampshire? And if they are really that bad they can just change their 'handle' here or elsewhere and start all over again.

No clue about selling info. Tracking the person down would be a breeze. All you'd have to do is be a mod...or get one to track the IP address for you.

How do you think the FBI nails everyone on the net?

GoddessDustyGold -> RE: Scam?!? (10/13/2005 9:05:47 PM)

I haven't received this email, but it sure sounded like a come-on for a subsciption to a website. If I did get it, I would just delete it, anyway.
I freely share information with others and they with Me. I would not base anything on some subjective list. And, as already said, it is too easy to just change a screen identity and come right back onto a site. I know of several boys who have done it several times. And they tell Me who they are!
Wondering if My name is on that list! *Smile*

It sounds liek a very bitter, very pised of "ex" who is looking for a change to make trouble for someone.

JustaTop -> RE: Scam?!? (10/13/2005 9:55:13 PM)

It's either an attempt at a pay back,or an offhand self promotion.

Beware if after the long list of "evil ones", a few shining examples of the 'desirable ones' gets posted after. It's really easy to pull head games on a server where anyone can pose as anything.

wipmebeetme100 -> RE: Scam?!? (10/13/2005 10:40:59 PM)

Yes, i got that last night......did not reply.

subversiveone -> RE: Scam?!? (10/14/2005 3:53:24 PM)
