Seeing as how John seems to be the most well spoken out of all of us, I think we need to start a grass roots campain for him running for President in 08. John, if you need a campaign worker, I'm here for you.

Not a bad offer. I'll admit a fondness for Aussies from the time I spent with some of your SAS guys in the boondocks.

My fondest memory is of a time we were drinking in a bar in Vientiane after a walk in the countryside. Something big and noisy went off about a street away and the houses on that side sorta jumped out in the middle of our street and collapsed. The bar keeper starts screaming "We closed, go home, we closed."

One of the mates reached across the bar and grabbed the guy by the front of his shirt. He pulled him close and said slowly and carefully. "We ain't dead, you ain't closed, we're thirsty."

Discussion at an end, more beer served.

SAS are about as insane as Marine recon or SEALs and good to have in a tough situation too....

You may have enjoyed a sojourn a few years ago in Kalgoorlie when I was running a drilling and blasting company. I have all my crews at the Boulderblock Hotel just at closing time. I sware we were a peaceful mob of guys who just wanted some 40 cases of beer to take back to camp.. Anyway the more the management told us they were closed the more we asked for the beer until one of my largish (fuck he was a blood giant of a man) removed the doors with his bare hands (just pulled the bloody things off their hinges) and laid said doors on the bar gently and very quietly commented that you cant close a hotel when there are no doors… We got the beer, paid for the damage and pilled into the 4x4s and drove through the mass of police who had been gathering a block from the hotel just in case……… Like I said just a normal group of peace loving Miners.

Oh, PaaaLeeeeze!

You are totally showing your lack of political awareness or your sexual idiocity or being totally halarious?!

It's not that difficult as a writer to get published somewhere, I have.

Everyone can have some form of " literary fame" but it does not make them
"The Authority" of about what they write.

Not in any form of disrespect for you John, but I don't look to you as a Guru
of the lifestyle.
The "lifestyle" is for me to experience in my way and I believe everybody else personally should do just that, what works for you is great, you put it into words, it got
printied, whatever, doesn't IMHO make you an expert, especially out-side hetro-BDSM.

GADomCpl....I hope you really take some notice about what is happening, and with full consciousness VOTE in the next election! Are you even registered?

You do need to take a chill pill. The whole notestream started out tongue in cheek and has continued in that light with occasional digressions into the absurd.

Still, given the state of the country, I could see why you might be humor challenged at this time, but it is more fun to see the lighter sides which pop up occasionally.

This is true John, but it is very frustrating, the apathy when it comes to people getting out there and voting. Not only getting out to vote but educating themselves politically and become aware of what's really going on with this Administrtion, our government and this country.

Do "they" know that there are still hundreds of people still holed up in the Astro Dome, how many weeks after Katrina hit, living side by side on cot's? That Fema has put up line after line of trailers maybe six feet apart for families to live in, but no means of transportation for job seeking, no yards, nothing for the kids to do,they have just left them to fend for themselves?

That over 2,000 of our young Americans have been killed in Iraq and more everyday, for what? And when are we going to get them the hell out of there? How many more will die senseless deaths with this adminastration?

And I will throw Global Warming, worsening hurricane and tornado season's. Roe vs Wade... Sexual orientation liberation, Etc. It get's kid of rough at times to listen to such frivilous banter when serious chit is going on and will no doubtedly get worse if people don't open their eye's and ear's.

If it is all tounge and cheek I hope most will slip and bite their tongues really hard and wake up to the real issues and do their parts to make this country a better place in the future. Instead of after the fact, saying "Hey wait a minute, how the hell did this happen?".

IMO, humor is a necessary feature of survival, and we -- the members -- have been having John on as a little giggle. Honestly, brightspot, no one is advocating any apathy. This is just a bit of fun.
