I have a severe reaction to parabens, which are used as preservatives in just about every type of cream or liquid in the drug industry--hand cream, local anasthesia, shampoo, etc.

Does anyone know of a substitute for K-Y, which contain parabens? I do use Vaseline, but I'm looking for something more of a cream.

I've asked several doctors/pharmasists, all who look at me blankly, and googled it, with no luck so far.

This stuff is fantastic. I use it myself, I'm a believer and until they take it off the shelves I'll not quit buying it. (Although I don't need to do that often at all. A little goes a long way.) It isn't a cream, it's a clear and slightly viscous liquid - but it might be a good starting place until you find something that's really good for your particular needs.

uh... you'd want to ask your doctor first, but olive oil or mineral oil? You know, the pure stuff... or possibly pure lanolin? Maybe aloe?

All those you listed either make me itch or burn..especially olive oil & aloe! For some reason shea butter is ok if I wash off fairly fast, but it also tends to sticky rather than slippery to me.

Well, what about... butter? You can get the real stuff, and it's natural.

Oh and....Vaseline isn't really a good choice for a personal lubricant. It traps bacteria and breaks down some toys and condoms.

those are all paraben free

Astroglide now makes a paraben free formula as does Wet Naturals and Sliquid H2O as well.

this one has aloe:

many of the silicone lubes do not contain parabens but you can not use them with silicone toys.

i've gotten excellent results and no reaction to coconut oil.  its a semi-solid that melts at body temperature, you can use it warmed as a massage oil, its good for the skin, nails, and hair, and its not really hard to wash off.

J-Lube, distilled water, mix it as thick as you want.

I have the same problems... personally, I've fallen in love with Probe.  Both formulas are preservative free and they are water based so you don't have any of the worries you do with a lot of other lubes.

We've never tried this but it makes its claims.  Which would mean a lawsuit if they were wrong and you found out.
