Hello Zhou Wua Tsien, at first appearance (quick glance) and without having clicked on your picture you seem what is termed a 'Pretty Boy'... But, clicking on your picture and seeing it close up the person I am viewing is a gorgeous man blessed with good genes and skin that most western women would be envious of.

Many people don't bother reading the information on profiles, so go by pictures only - which is why I receive emails from men telling me they love my bottom picture and would like to insert every man and his dog in there... The picture is not of me, it is actually of my submissive partner who is most certainly MALE. If they view the picture properly you cannot mistake the awkward stance, the very long arms or the mass of hair covering them. So do not take such emails as an insult, the insult is theirs for not having bothered to read your profile.

My ex who i was married to for 17yrs was Itl/Phili. His look was often confused with being Samoan. Not that folks from backwoods North Carolina (where we lived) would know where in the hell such a place is! Add to the confusion that my ex had extremely long hair (think mullet; short in the front, party in the back!!) that was as thick as a horses tail, earrings, and mad tattoos!! More often then i care to admit, folks would just walk right up to him and ask what he was!!! WTF?!!? One lady even made the mistake of going on, and on, and on while my seven month pregnant self was standing there. My ex and my father inlaw had to literally pull me away from this woman cause i was going for the jugular!! My father inlaw (who is all Filipino) then sat me down and tried to explain that he, as well as my (now) ex are used to inane folks asking such rude questions. Although my ex will "never" cut his hair, he has stated he is on a certain level used to a persons mouth getting ahead of their good sense.
What i learned is how we see ourselves is rarely how another will see us.

I liked the Top Hat it sets him apart from the herd. I could never wear one due to public transport constraints, that and the fact school children would walk up to me, beat me shitless and put the video on youtube.

Looking at just the first picture Not your profile i can see where people would think your a girl/female .Pull the hair into a pony tail and try another pic if you do not want to be mistaken . With all the OL trolls i can see where your going to get many hey baby emails from that picture alone .

that was my first thought....pull your hair back into a ponytail. maybe take a few pics with a five oclock shadow? flannel shirt? axe in your hand standing next to a gigantic blue bull?

People use heuristics, cognitive shortcuts, in order to take the load off working memory (which is only so big). We all use these rules of thumb all the time, in one area or another, and usually in many many many areas simultaneously. If we didn't use these heuristics, our brains would be so overloaded that we wouldn't be able to walk without thinking, "pick up leg, push foward, place foot on floor, pick up other leg ..." In fact, we are so good at using these shortcuts, the media and marketing firms bank on it - they employ psychologists just to give them the scoop on how people think and react to things.

Edited to add: Duh. I forgot to include the point I was trying to make.

Most people don't mean to be disparaging when, for example, they think the OP is female or think you are hispanic. It's quick and then they can move on to the next thing without wasting their mental resources.
