Yeah? Stating facts in a strong, assertive manner isn't bitchy. Perhaps you'd like hard truths to be wrapped in toffee sweetness [8D] ?

seeksfemslave -> RE: A day late (5/6/2008 6:39:23 AM)

Kitten what I meant was those responders who right at the start adopted an agressive tone to a perfectly fair question. Thats what I meant OK?

I'm close to tears Iyam I'm too good for this world.

Self indulgent?  Do you really want to know where the protestors are?  Why they've hit an all time low by protesting the war at the funerals of those brave enough to give their very lives in the name of freedom.  Yes, don't they make you proud to call yourself an American?

Whose freedom? The freedom to do what?

Iraq isn't about freedom, it's about America taking liberties. It's about an illegal war, an opportunistic occupation, and close to one hundred thousand Iraqi civilian deaths. Remember that unlike the soldiers whose deaths you lament, those civilians did not choose to get bombed, maimed and slaughtered. This 'support our troops' nonsense is little more than a laughable propaganda that disguises a jingoistic aggression against another people as if it were patriotism.

I respect the right to your views and your right to make them known.

Be well,
Haven

If nothing else we are a pationate people

Seriously, dude..where've you been?? There are protestors all over the place!!!! Have you ever watched anything but the entertainment/gossip segment of the news?

Their protests aren't twue because they haven't been shot yet. Let's just hope that Cindy Sheehan and others don't own a flak jackets so they'll stand a better chance of becoming martyrs if some nut job takes shots at them.

kittinSol -> RE: A day late (5/6/2008 6:46:01 AM)

Thank you, LilMiss. It's obvious we both hold strong opinions on the subject.

Well I'm with DupedDom on this one. Some here appear to get bitchy about anything. No wonder my life is in turmoil.

I did not take Kittensol's or anyone else's reply as bitchy, I believe she wrote it with the passion of her convictions the problem with internet communication is passion is often mistaken as abrasive or even bitchy.

Owner59 -> RE: A day late (5/6/2008 6:47:38 AM)

My dad was on campus(text book salesman)that day.Told me about his eyes stinging from the gas,hearing the shots and the screams.

One of the many reasons I admire you is because you are intelligent, passionate and stick firmly to your convictions even if they don't agree with mine all the time.

History, if not remembered will repeat itself. Where are the protesters for the war in Iraq??? Is the self indulged society we live in more concerned with themselves than what is going around us?? These were the reponses, I suspected I would recieve.

History is going to repeat itself,unfortunately I`m afraid,remembered or not.

kittinSol -> RE: A day late (5/6/2008 6:53:58 AM)

Yes, it's frustrating for us, but imagine what it must be like for him... plus it's been going on for a while. Owner! How much longer are you going to be on probation?

Or arrogant,bigoted, selfish, and baiting. Or maybe it`s just an 'internetz' thing.

Btw,that`s a much better pic,SFS. Who`s your friend there w/ you?

Added for kittin:
Has anyone considered that I might like being in detention?

MladyHathor -> RE: A day late (5/6/2008 7:06:22 AM)

I think one of the most common problems with any subject board is that we forget to respect those views that differ from our own.

ps what exactly does one get on probation for?

kittinSol -> RE: A day late (5/6/2008 7:19:40 AM)

Check out your mailbox.

DupedDom -> RE: A day late (5/6/2008 7:24:43 AM)

Don't agree with me, you will be instantly lambasted with insults!!! The truest tragedy, I think is what is forgotten. I have nothing but respect for the young people over in Iraq and have sent many care packages to my cousins serving over there. I have served in the active military and national guard for over ten years and have nothing but respect for those who have served. I went out of the way to hire an Iraq vet as they deserve a break for their service to our country.

I did post this in the wrong place to begin with, my apologies. The significance of the tragedy at Kent State (to me) was more of the loss of civil liberties and how the government failed to uphold the rights of citizens, the polarization of america and a complete disregard for human life. So far on this post, forgive me if I missed it, I see little of the discussion of the tragedy itself. Disappointed but not surprised.

seeksfemslave -> RE: A day late (5/6/2008 7:33:51 AM)

We all know that Americans citizens feel the need and have the freedom to shoot one another  but when the National Guard does it, well I think thats going too far.
Am I wrong?
