That makes it all better. Fuck that he's been part of the man's congregation for years. And damn well knew before now what Wright was preaching. Now that he's turning on the people he's been behind all this time makes it great cuz he's running for president. What's he gonna do if he gets into office.....have another change of heart and fuck us all too?

You have a lot of unresolved anger, don't you?

I was going to say that about you.

Fighting to claim the higher ground because you used bigger words is a battle you can never win. Its simply lying to yourself. I CAN use words that send everyone in the room racing for a dictionary but my point was still not made. If you are afraid to insult them in a language they understand, you might as well keep talking behind their backs.

Boijen, I never claimed you couldn't control yourself or speak politely. I merely meant that you should never repress what you truly feel to save someone else's feelings and was applauding your ability to say what you thought. If "Go away. I don't like you," solves the problem then its all good. If it takes a stronger statement then why should you hold that back? Politeness for itself only is a waste of time and a repression of what you truly feel. Just as rudeness for its own sake is crude and a waste of time. HONESTY is what I espouse. BLUNTNESS is what everyone else calls my way of dealing with the world. The greater virtue is that you never need wonder where you stand with me.

If you notice, I stated that that was what I learned. It is my way of life. I can't candy coat the truth because it is a waste of my time and energy. In business, I won't pretend to like someone to get a booking for my show. If I dislike someone, I tell them. I am still turning down performances as I settle in my new home so I don't think its hurting me in the long run to be nondiplomatic.

You misunderstand my point. I don't take the higher ground for its own sake. I do so because saying "well fuck you" is no way to win a a debate. It's usually what happens when your chosen argument fails.

As I said to jen, when you have to resort to schoolyard antics, your side has already admitted defeat. If you wish to win the debate and make a coherent point, the higher road is usually better.

It's like in the movie Tremors: the two characters are talking about a plan, one says "Hell, let's just run." The other replies "Runnin' ain't a plan, runnin' is what you do when a plan fails, now damnit, you're not even trying to think of a plan."

BoiJen -> RE: I get to go vote for Hillary in 2 hours! (5/6/2008 6:45:32 PM)

My coherent point has been repeatedly denied because you have already given in to the fear tactics of the current gov't and absolute denial of the actual political situation. Your opinion of what my diginity is doesn't count for a damned penny. Where I put myself on my own rank is my dignity. It's like someone telling MsK..."You should be ashamed of Your boi" Her response :"Why? That's My boi and I'm fine with her being her." My diginity is of my own measure. You may feel that I'm acting undignified but again that's your opinion of my behaviour...not my opinion of myself. Start using the right words smarty pants.

Irishknight -> RE: I get to go vote for Hillary in 2 hours! (5/6/2008 6:52:18 PM)

There is a time for big words and a time for "Will you get the fuck away from me?"  When I am teaching classes, I use the level of language my class understands.  When I am bouncing in a bar, I do the same.  "Now sit down, Timmy and watch the nice naked girl dance," would be about as useful as me noy being at the job in the first place.  Yet, that is how the "intellectual elite" believe that it should be done.  They can try it.  Me?  I am happy telling some "If you don't sit down and shut up right the fuck now, I am going to have you removed from this bar."  They understand it and so does everyone else around.

And, yes, I have both taught children and worked as a bouncer in a strip club.  Sometimes, I think being a bouncer is the safer of the two.

Sorry, but I don't participate in schoolyard flame wars. Your on-topic point has long since been defeated. It's been defeated on more than one front and then surrendered by your final "liar liar, pants on fire" routine.

Anything said to you now is a waste of my time, and tonight, I actually have better things to do.

As a final note: who is the bigger fear monger? The one crying out that people are voting for an "anti American" or the ones who are through that pathetic political plot?

I bet you still think Obama's a muslim, don't you?

(Don't answer, really, I don't care. I already know the answer anyway so it the question itself was rhetorical.)

BoiJen -> RE: I get to go vote for Hillary in 2 hours! (5/6/2008 7:05:03 PM)

And yet you continue to respond. I never thought he was a muslim. I just don't think he's the man for the job. And he IS the typical politician...a big fat liar. And if you wanna call that the raz of the year be my guest.

Irishknight -> RE: I get to go vote for Hillary in 2 hours! (5/6/2008 7:12:37 PM)

Hold on now.  He's not FAT.

hermione83 -> RE: I get to go vote for Hillary in 2 hours! (5/6/2008 11:57:50 PM)

And if you support her wonderful "gas tax" initiative....then you support putting hundreds of thousands out of work so you can save $28 on gas throughout the entire summer. Good call.

---- I don't know how Obama figured that out, but as I use 6 gallons of gas a day, and I know many who have to commute much, much much longer than I do, it would save me ridiculous amounts.

Are you kidding? McCain has no more scruples than Clinton - and let's not forget which party he belongs to. He can't even hide his cynicism. Just a few days ago, he implied  that the invasion of Iraq was for oil .

A man who CHOSE to remain in a prisoner of war camp because he refused to accept preferential treatment because his dad was CINC NAVAIRPAC has no scruples? A man who refused to leave his men even though it meant he would be tortured? A man who is an officer and a gentleman? How in the hell can you even compare the scruples of a highly decorarated Naval Academy graduate who served with honor to a crooked bitch who is a disbarred lawyer? Do you realize what a sleazeball you need to be to be disbarred ? Thats like being banished from the litterbox!

kittinSol -> RE: I get to go vote for Hillary in 2 hours! (5/7/2008 3:39:02 AM)

All the posts I've read from you have been so full of hate, they have made me wonder whether you are being deliberately offensive... I'll leave you to your delusional rantings.

ya know I think it's funny that some people ask me if I repressed anger...given that I have little desire to filter my opinion and feelings..or expression thereof (in healthy manners of course...healthy and polite are not always the same) and I don't get why I get that question so frequently. I guess it's because for most people they would HAVE to be angry to behave as freely as I do. eh...whatever...I'ma go start the weekend early lol

I took a lot of your posts to be aggressive spoken in  angry tones if that makes any sense.  I also understand that  passion can be mistaken for aggression just as easily as it can be mistaken for a bitchy attitude which I was accused of yesterday. [;)]

It was also just a bad day yesterday for a lot of politically passionate individual's.

Hopefully today will bring about better results,
Haven

There is nothing delusional or deliberately offensive about it. John McCain served with honor as a commissioned officer of the United States Navy. He graduated the US Naval Academy, an institution with a well known honor code. He chose to remain with his men, even after the VC offered to return him because of who his father was.

Hillary Clinton, (AND BILL) both lost their arkansas law licenses and were hence "disbarred". In fact hillary was fined $25,000 for obnstruction of justice as a result of her shredding documents demanded under subpeona.

So CLEARY McCain, the officer and gentleman has more "scruples" than the disbarred, sanctioned, and fined $25,000 EX-lawyer.

Aynne -> RE: I get to go vote for Hillary in 2 hours! (5/7/2008 4:43:27 AM)

And that BoiJen is a giant reminder of what is wrong with American politics. He was my candidate too, and to acknowledge the fact that he was so crucified for being enthusiastic while addressing a group of his young supporters mostly, being pumped up, excited, just getting into the moment? That is ridiculous. That is a grave mistake yet a two decade long alignment wuth Rev. Wright is okay?  The sheeple have spoken I guess and we can now look forward to 4 more years of GOP "leadership". God forbid we educate ourselves, turn off the television and look to alternative and independent news sources. Nope, just listen to Fox News ( faux noise ) and sound bites and Michael Savage and Rush , and  hope for the best. Cuz that's really been working....[:@]

I don't have to be a nice person to know what the right thing is. And Clinton is not "my Candidate"..."my Candidate" was deemed crazy last election and is aparently far too enthusisastic for change for America.

Really? Then how do you explain Hillary securing by huge majorities the women's vote in the primaries? Women have swarmed to the polls in record numbers to cast their ballot for her.

Well they can talk about the women's vote all they want doesn't mean I'm gonna vote for Hillary.

[sm=applause.gif][sm=applause.gif][sm=applause.gif]

Good to hear. I can't STAND when I hear all that rah-rah "sisterhood" crap. Just because she's a woman, she expects every woman to vote for her. Hell my ex said she'd vote for anyone other than her. She's alienating many women, at least the ones I've met and talked to. I kep hearing the line "I wanted to vote for her because I'm a woman....but I just can't. I don't like her policies." Or words to that effect.

Yeah pretty hypocritical of many of them, as many have said they are voting for her because she is a female.

Aynne -> RE: I get to go vote for Hillary in 2 hours! (5/7/2008 5:42:55 AM)

And? People voting for their "own kind" is as old as time Orion. Some things just aren't as easily identifiable as gender. You know, like wealthy old white republicans voting for old wealthy white guys to maintain their status quo.  Or african americans voting for Obama. And yes, women voting for Hillary because of her gender. Big deal. Personally wasn't my reason.  I was fortunate enough to have lived through the first Clinton two term presidency, you remember, peace, prosperity and a budget surplus? The one that Bush recklessly squandered?

Why would you brag about this? [sm=danger.gif]

See, I'm with you.  In November I will probably make the decision to vote for McCain.  I will have voted for the best under the circumstances, but far from ideal.  And I won't be bragging.  I'll just go home and continue my life.
