Unfortunately, McCain as the democratic primary has already done too good a job of making both look bad and neither as good president material.  Maybe a third party candidate will actually get some votes this time from everyone who does not want to vote for either candidate.  Shouldn't mention that as if all who do not want either as president vote for a third party candidate, they might just win.

Obama or McCain?

It doesn't look well for Hillary..

McCain.  Obama's a bad joke and people are no longer laughing.

Much as it pains me to agree with Hillary Clinton, the haranguing harridan is right about one thing:  Obama can't win and couldn't function as President even if he could.  He's Carter and McGovern all over again.

Manawyddan -> RE: Whom do you think will be our next President? (5/11/2008 5:22:42 AM)

McCain. I'll probably vote for Obama, but I don't think he's tough enough to win the general election.

FR:

I think it is too close to really call this election yet, but I have certain thoughts on it:

1. Generally, advantage to McCain, regardless of which Democratic candidate gets the party nod.

2. This will be one of the dirtiest political elections in a long, long, long time, making the final results even more difficult to predict.

3. Too many of Obama's supporters are "true believers". Not all of them certainly, but he seems to have the largest number of young, relatively naive supporters (or at least "first time to express serious support in a major election" people). This fact will have a lot of interesting results.

4. If Hillary loses the nomination, and Obama gets elected, he will be a one-term president, and Hillary will be the next Democratic nominee. Whether or not she gets elected depends on what happens in the world-wide jihad.

Bill Clinton as First Lady would be hilariously appropriate.

Should have changed the rules and let Arnold Schwarznegger stand. Since religous extremists have a problem distinguishing fact from fiction, that'd soon nip the Al Qaeda problem in the butt. [;)]

who will be the next president?  nobody actually qualified or fully capable of doing the job right, just like most of the previous presidents!

McCain. The Repulicans haven't let little things like votes stop them in the last two elections, why start now?

PanthersMom -> RE: Whom do you think will be our next President? (5/12/2008 8:24:22 AM)

i honestly don't think mccain is qualified either.  what do they claim is his experience over and above the other two yahoos?   his military service?  big deal, lots of people have served, that doesn't make them qualified to make  foreign policy.

Errrrmm... I think maybe some people might get the impression that 18 years in Congress is more than 3 years or 8 years.
