the poison control center told me that when getting caustic or acidic things in your eye, as well as from the milk-weed of a pencil cactus, the best thing to flush them with is milk!  worked for me!

Kalista, by this time you've no doubt dealt with your eye pain.
 
I just wanted to add a word of caution:
 
I wore soft contact lenses for many years without a problem.  One day when I tried to put my lense in my left eye, I simply couldn't, because it hurt.
 
A trip to the optometrist later, and I had a script for pain killers.  I had torn my cornea when I removed my lense the night before.  I've never been able to wear contacts again since. (Grrrrr.)
 
Never forget you're dealing with your vision.
