frenchpet -> A tale of two countries. (10/19/2005 4:27:17 PM)

(sorry if that should go in the off topic or the random stupidity section)

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness... oops, no that's not what I wanted to talk about. I just saw an issue of "Glamour" (last july's issue, I'm sure you'll all want to know this detail to get this historical issue) that reminded me of another magazine. Let's start with Glamour. The cover says : "What everyone you know is really doing in bed". Of course, when I saw that I had to read ! OMG OMG ! Glamour gets kinky !! Where is it where is it ??? OK the contents page is right at the beginning, after only 12 pages of ads. page 198 ! OMG OMG ! OK, page 199 I read :
-" What's the craziest thing you've done sexually?"
-"S&M - with handcuffs!"
guy-"We actually haven't tried yet, but we really want to."
girl-"Yeah, maybe we just need a drink or two to get in the mood."

There, I daren't turn to the next page in fear that the next people interviewed answer : "we did it doggy style ! - well, we only talked about doing it so far, but as soon as we do real time sex, we'll go for doggy style".

OK now the reason why I'm writing my 465th silly post on this board is that when I saw this article, I immediatly thought about another article I read a couple years ago. I was in the train in Russia, on my own, with not much to do. Booooring. A woman seating accross the aisle had fallen asleep, with her magazine on the whateveryoucallit, in front of her. She wasn't needing it, and I could take some time reading very simple russian (I mean, a women's magazine is not going to be as difficult as Pushkin), so I took it. Where I opened it (and obviously it was what got her attention), was an article about "new sex". A couple pictures being worth more than a zillion words, this sociological article about cultural changes in the modern world's houses was illustrated by 2 pictures. On one picture were 3 (4 ?)women in high heel and mini skirt, and each of them was nonchalantly holding a leash, and had a man prostrated at their feet on the leash.
The other picture showed the same men and the same women. The men were naked, crouching against each other, and the women were, well, just looking superior.

Besides this sociological article, this magazine was pretty normal, the article itself being between the usual "how to lose 5 kilograms in 5 days without any effort and eating what you like", and "the ultimate beauty secrets of the top models". Well, I can't remember was in that magazine besides this article, honestly.

Maybe it's nothing and you'll tell me that the subject has been featured in an old issue of Glamour, I just had the wrong issue. Maybe, but I just thought the comparison was ... interesting.

EDIT : In case anyone worried, I put the magazine back on the whateveryoucallit ( edit : tablet? ) even before she was awake. I've never stolen anything...

Volcano -> RE: A tale of two countries. (10/19/2005 11:28:51 PM)

While standing in line at the grocery store a few years ago, I was scanning the covers of the various magazines. I spotted one women's magazine (don't remember which one) with a cover blurb about "The Last Sexual Taboo." So, I just had to check that out.

Turns out that the Last Sexual Taboo involves the woman insisting on getting her orgasm after the guy has gotten his. [8|]

[sm=lol.gif][sm=lol.gif][sm=lol.gif]OMG ! I guess you're making my point, if there is one. I just have to find what this point is. Don't give people freedom or they'll use it... for a time ?

frenchpet...[8|] If there is something you do "not" want people to do??? Just give them the freedom to do it?[:D]

[:D] There must be some truth to that. After all it probably worked for adult theaters.

It's not related, but since I just mentionned this article for the very first time, I guess I could share another strange moment : More recently, back in France, a very beautiful girl was singing on stage in a bar (in a bar where they make patrons sing, accompanied by paid musicians). This girl is a regular patron of the bar and also a friend of mine, and I know very well that although she's oh my GAWD ! oh she's oh ! Is it even legal to be so beautiful (and have a brain on top of that) !? , she's a virgin (very christian, no bullshit - yeah, what a waste of fun :p ). Anyway, the guy who was introducing the patrons who wanted to sing was sitting on the stage, and as she was singing, well, he just started licking her high heel shoes. I guess 20 or 30 patrons saw him. I know, I'm pretty much a vanilla guy, but that left me... breathless. I dunno, it's not like the guy was a patron who could fulfill a little fantasy and go back to the other side of the earth where nobody saw him, the guy works there and the people who saw him are mostly regular patrons. Oh well, maybe I'm easily shocked... or maybe I was jealous :).

Oh, I guess I should say, the girl kept singing as if nothing special was happening. Either it's me, or people are strange (when you're a stranger...).

Ah well, again :

"¿Qué es la vida? Un frenesí.
¿Qué es la vida? Una ilusión,
una sombra, una ficción,
y el mayor bien es pequeño:
que toda la vida es sueño,
y los sueños, sueños son."

I guess the question is "why did everybody acted as if the guy's behaviour was perfectly normal and nobody mentioned it to anybody ?"

Still not related but hey it's my thread !

I just saw a TV talk show. Around 7.15 pm, an artist was invited to talk about her paintings, on which one could see scenes of bondage, suspension, and...weird paintings (the painter obviously has a hair fetish, as she includes hair in her paintings...). Anyway, I thought it was er... unexpected to advertise for this kind of art at this time of the day. Plus the advertising didn't really work because I thought that the paintings were dispayed at the museum of erotism in Paris (the only museum that has the same working schedule as sex shops), but the website doesn't mention any Polish painter (all I could remember was her nationality). Or maybe the website is simply not up to date.

The strangest thing in fact is that I couldn't google any museum of erotism in the USA. Do I need to learn how to use google or what ? museums of erotism aren't the rarest thing in the world. Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, Hamburg, Berlin, London, Amsterdam, København have their museum of erotism.

...OK, I just found one, in Hollywood. That ain't much. Where are the museums of erotism in America ? Are they hiding ?

Edit : I wasn't wrong about the artist. It's Eva Kowalewska. The website was just a bit late.
