Some anonymous Joe may feel that I'm a princess because The Man will drive when we decide to order take out (the one Chinese place here doesn't deliver). But The Man doesn't feel that way.

I can't give you a universal meaning on this label, but the phrase "submissive princess" sort of suggests it could be an "Uber Daddy's Girl" type, this is what it instills in my mind at least.

If being treated with love and respect by someone you are in a relationship with makes you a princess then I'm all for there being more princesses in the world.

On a side note, I think a lot of people (yes "a lot" is an arbitrary number) had read and joyed the Beauty trilogy as an introduction to BDSM fantasies. Beauty was a princess...

I do see it used that way by those who appear to belong to the "sour grapes gang", but a lot of the time I see it used in a derogatory manner, I get the impression it's a put-down... a way of suggesting that a submissive isn't a REAL™ submissive. Sort of the "how dare you have an expectations", "it's all about Me", and "I've no intention to make any effort or go out of my way for you... I'm a DOMINANT" lecture, all rolled into one cute little, easy-to-use phrase that cuts to the quick.

Wow, I have never heard the term submissive princess uses other than by me...when I'm talking about myself.

I use it in the context that I'm my Daddy's little gurl who requires lots of pink, bling, shoes, and chocolate. Of course, Daddy doesn't always fully understand my requirements, but we (that's the royal we) are working on him.

Perused the thread... here's what I surmized. Everyone seems to ascribe their own meaning to the label. Which is more or less true with most labels bandied about. I've never used the term so I don't have any particular perspective on it.

I'm familiar with this term, to the point a former partner used that as a pet name for me!

I adored it then and I adore the memory of him calling me that.

With this particular Dom, it was used as a form of rather sophisticated, unspoken, unexplained humor between us. I have high expectations. A high standard. I do know what I want in life. I also have a great potential for self-depricating humor. He understood all of these things in me, and frankly found it all quite amusing. He didn't find any of it the least bit challenging, either to his dominance or to my own submission.

He called me his princess, and that worked really well for us. I still have great fondness for the man, and probably always will.

My Lord once told me I don't act enough like a Princess. So being the smart aleck I am I had to run to Claire's the next day to buy a tiara. His laughter the next time he was over and saw it on my shelf was more than enough for the run to get it, plus my oldest UM was mortified because I wore in threw the local mall.

In a derogatory sense I could equate submissive princess with do me boys! But, there seems to be lots of Doms who love spoiling their little girls ... and as long as everyone's happy what does the label matter?

I am his princess slave, and he is my prince. I don't sit around and get fed grapes all day, but I am a tad bit spoiled. I am always shown love, respect, and how much he cares for me. He takes care of me with the same love and respect I give to him. We have a great balance of give and take in our dynamic.
