I can't stress enough just how great my local Planned Parenthood clinic has been. I actually have chosen to go there most of the time instead of my "real" gyno. They're honest, fair, affordable and non-judgemental.
I've been using the Nuvaring for about 3 months and after a brief adjustment phase, it's great. I need to use low dose BC due to another medical condition, so my options were limited.
Good luck.....do as much research as possible and don't give up. Oh and remember.....condoms aren't fool-proof....I have a good friend that has 3 children to prove that!

Not to hijack the thread, but i hope women are protecting their fertility as well as preventing pregnancy.  i was amoung the first generation of women to take the pill, and back then, it way too heavy with the hormones really needed...but not enough research had been done before it was put on the market.

It took me two years and lots of assistance from my Dr to finally get pregnant after i stopped taking the pill; a healthy, fertile woman having regular sex will generally get pregnant in about 6 months at the latest.
