I need to get some new nip clamps and would appreciate any suggestions on which type is best. My current pair was real cheap and won't stay on if tugged on. Are the vibrating ones any good? Thanks all.

The vibrating ones are garbage, imnsho.

Clover clamps work well, though I've heard some people claim that they're too "intense". I've never found them to be.

If you want the cadillac of nipple clamps, get yourself some Xanadu clamps. They're expensive, but damned fun.

I had a partner use them on other parts and they worked quite well... as far as my tits, I find them annoying.

I have two pair of the adjustable spring type. One pair is about half an inch wide with latex 'sleeves' on the business end. One of them tends to slip at unfortunate moments. The other pair is about 1/4 inch wide and they are quite intense, but they sure don't slip. The vibrating set are like the last ones mentioned and I like them. The vibration tends to make the pain go away. I have a set of tweezer types and they can be really painful quickly. The last set are squarish with a bar in the center that has a screw that tightens it and captures the nipple between it and the 'square'. Hard to explain. Apparently my nipples aren't long enough (or something) for they will not stay on without them being constantly tightened. I like clothespins as well as clamps and a skirt hanger with clips attached can be a really fine toy. Has a nifty hook where weights can be hung or can be tied and you can be tethered by your nipples. Also have tried those clotheslines for campers that have wire clothespins attached to it. I haven't been favorable impressed with it.

I have never had any luck with the vibrating ones

clover clamps can be bought in different weights, which affects the 'severity' of their 'bite' - one of the advantages of clover clamps is that they get tighter when tugged on (its the way they are designed)

'duckbill' type can be good, since no teeth dont have to have vinyl cover (unlike alligator type)

what I want to get, having only ever seen them once at a play party, is the kind that has 4 or 5 narrow 'fingers' that expand when you pull back on a sleeve and tighten when you release the sleeve - putting even pressure around the entire nipple - I dont know what they are called, but they kinda sorta work like those 'grab it' things for picking up small items like screws or nails without bending over - where you press on a button that pushes a wire and causes the 'fingers' on the end of the 2' or so long device to expand out and when you release the button they contract with whatever they were around in their grip - or kinda like a pickle puller

and have you tried the noose type yet? also gets tighter when tugged on

I can't really say one type is better than another type. We have...hmm..probably 6 different types in our toy bag. Clover, the small metal closepin types. Tweezer style. I'm having a hard time thinking of all of them. So you see how often we brush them off. None are the absolute best that we happen to own.

The only thing I can agree with here is the vibrating ones are crap. Used to have a pair of those.

I don't own a set of these, but a friend does, and used them on me a few times. They had the curved tops, which worked really well. I often have trouble with aligator type clamps and the like not staying on, but that wasn't a problem at all with these ones. I've not tried the ones with the flat tops, so I don't really know how they compare.

They're definitely worth checking out if you can see/feel/touch/experiment at some place like Folsom or the Fetish Flea!

The curved vs. the flat depends on the size/shape of your victim's nipples. You can order a set with both shapes for a small extra fee and it only takes a few seconds to change them depending on your needs.

Go to the fishing section of your local department store, look for small bells on alligator clamps, about $3 a pair. Take them home & with a really thin needlenose pliers roll back the alligator teeth just far enough that the rolled edges still meet, but don't overlap. Your Dom/me will always know where you are at large parties.

Necro thread because who isn't always looking for new nipple clamps?

I've probably bought a dozen different nipple clamps over the last 15 years, and I'd say the best ones I've owned are https://www.extremerestraints.com/nipple-toys_60/nipple-press-clamps_8662.html - These are very sturdy, and can be adjusted from medium to very tight. They have a large smooth surface area so you get a lot of clamping without as much risk of permanent nipple disfigurement. These can hold at least 2 or 3 lbs attached to the chain, and are fun to tug on.

As a runner up these are good and very adjustable. They're not sprung, so you have to manually tighten them, but with occasional re-tightening they can get pretty severe.
