I love the soaring euroguitar in "Time". And how about "Lady Grinning Soul"? That's one of my very favorite songs. Then there's my air guitar masterpiece: "Jean Genie".

I saw Bowie once in Detroit, but he was just sitting in the background, playing keyboards for Iggy. Thanks for the good words. What else do you like?

Today I loaded up nothing but Beatles. Sang my guts out.

Bob

I've seen Bowie twice now, once in Chicago, and once in Quad Cities, Iowa. He did an amazing job both times. (Area 2/ Heathen Tour and Reality Tour). I'm a big old rock geek. (I have an Aerosmith tat on my back taken directly from the logo on "Pump"... big mistake). I like the stereotypical awesomely dark music. I like underground and indy rock. I like punk. I like classic orchestra pieces. I like jazz. I like blues. Ok...this is going to go on way too long. I loooove music. My tastes are about as random as they come. Weezer, Joy Electric, The Who (who are also awesome in concert), Led Zepellin, Operation Ivy, Sublime, Spacehog, Nine Inch Nails, Blind Melon, Joni Mitchell, Depeche Mode, CSNY or just Neil Young, The Cure, Jamiroquai, Pedro the Lion, Modest Mouse, Loretta, The Stills, Starflyer 59, Razorlight, Julianna Theory, Smashing Pumpkins, Wilco, The Faint.... ooooohhhhh, on that note I'm going to go listen to The Faint. I haven't done that in a while. But those are the bands I listen to all the time that popped into my mind.

What other kinds of music do you dig?

DesertRat -> RE: What's been in your CD player lately? (10/28/2005 1:47:22 AM)

I'm like you. I love music so much it's impossible to summarize my likes: Stones, Kinks, Procol Harum, Zappa, Rage, Dolby, Beck, really OLD blues, Miles Davis, Coltrane, almost any jazz, MC5, Stooges, Billy Joel, Debussy, Bartok, Carmina Burana, Rachmaninoff, Mazzy Star, Hendrix (saw him), Arthur Brown, Ben Harper, AC/DC (only with Bon Scott), early Alice Cooper, Boz Scaggs, B-52s, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Blue Oyster Cult....on and on....Queen, Animals, James Brown, Aretha, Eagles, Motown....Sam Phillips...whew!

kinda dumb about newer groups. I just don't get that much exposure.

I listen to Joni Mitchell a lot. Suzanne Vega, too.

No tats, though. I almost had that weirdass Blue Oyster Cult symbol tattooed on my bicep, but luckily came to my senses. Nothing against tats but....well...you know.
