About to take a trip with my sub and want to bring along a few toys, I really don't want to check baggage, anything they are going to give me a hard time about? Planning on the standard stuff: cuffs, snaps, hood, flogger, rope, gag... Thank you for the input, haven't traveled in a bit...

Check it. They may or may not decide to be picky, and determine that your toys are weapons.

I agree totally, never ever carry anything in your hand luggage that can be called a weapon. There have even been instances of jockeys stopped at airport security and being told they have two choices, having their horse crops confiscated or checking them in as baggage. If they are stopping celebrities who are carrying "weapons" for more legitimate reasons then you can be rest assured your collection would be refused.

Anything that can be used to subdue a person or to restrain him or her may well ring bells. For example, handcuffs are on the list. If you don't want to check your baggage, consider a shipping company such as UPS. My recommendation is to check the bag but mark it clearly inside and out with your name, where you live and where you are visiting. The vast majority of bags that vanish just don't contain any way to contact the owner.

I ups /fed ex my stuff ahead and don't deal with security or its lines .I have known others who have checked bags and sticky fingered baggage handlers liked what they found .Never had a problem doing this nor have others i have spoke to after suggesting it .Now with American air charging for the first bag and others to follow i can see many more doing this as well .

I have just found it alot easier as well as safer... to ship them before hand as others have stated... SOME toys are fun to leave inside the carry on luggage just to watch the expressions of those peeking...=L= Safe....journeys

I now pack a typed list of my belongings that gets set on the top layer of whatever is in my luggage. Since I've begun doing that nothing has disappeared from my suitcase. The luggage itself has my last name and phone number permanently marked on the inside.If you use a luggage lock it has to be TSA approved or it will be cut off and thrown away. Toys go in giant ziploc bags with 'Please Do Not Handle' on the outside of the bag with yet another content list that is clearly visible. When it comes to carryon stuff there is no room for error, if its on the no-fly list it just gets tossed right at the checkpoint if you can't get it into your checked luggage. It makes everything so much faster when everyone cooperates and gets organised ahead of time. A giant pet peeve is standing in that snaky line then hearing people try and argue that their 4.5 ounce of whatever is just too important to throw away or that they didn't know it was too big. With the new checked luggage charge I'm thinking it would be a good idea to have an airport kiosk selling all the sundries that got thrown away when the luggage goes from checked to carryon!I would only mark stuff up a teensy bit...

In Europe play items in hold baggage have never been a problem. In a Greek airport I cadged permission to sit with the polizei to have a smoke one time. We were beside the security area with a clear view of the scanner screens. Three rather nice men passed their hand baggage through and - standing out clear and proud amidst the simple stuff in each of the three bags was a very large butt plug. Much uncomfortable snorting (you try snorting vigorously yet politely!) from British tourist and Greek polizei. The security guy seemed unfazed; just turned and gave a wry smile to his colleagues. So best to leave embarrassment at home if you're taking toys in hand baggage. [;)]

Think about where you are going. I take absolutely no toys when I travel to Singapore, and am careful of other Oriental countries. Europe I feel better with but they go into the luggage and not in the hand carry items. My Master was so concerned for me that He didn't even want me to bring my collar to Spain. (I'm in Barcelona now on a business trip. I typically sleep in my collar when I am away from home.)

All the normal stuff isn't a big deal. We just flew with a lot of that stuff and didn't have a problem (well, there were plenty of problems, just no luggage related ones). Try to pack wisely, the charges if you go over the weight limit is pretty steep (around $100). Take batteries out of anything that needs them to avoid bomb-scares. Don't pack anything kinky in your carry-on. If you have something kinky that's too precious to pack in your checked baggage, then just don't bring it. Pretty much expect that security will be going through your bag, and don't put anything that will embarrass you or anyone else flying with you.

Just to relay a tale or two .. As ya all know what our items cost not only a flogger but our special going out to play clothing .A pal of mine was going to a latex event and had 3 complete outfits and a couple pairs of very nice boots .He also had a woman with him on the trip who had a lot more than he did .When they arrived at the hotel bags in hand more than 1/2 of their stuff was Gone .They put in a claim and the airlines never did pay .The loss in clothing alone was in the multi thousands . Yet another instance a national presenter was to be giving classes and had her outfit s and tools of the trade in her bags , the airlines lost all her bags , all she had was her carry ons . Twards the end of the event the bags did get back to her ,though it was not fun in the least . I am not the least bit embarrassed in having to explain some stuff if not in a hurry to catch a flight but its the thefts that really get to me .happy travels .

Since I live someplace with limited toy shopping, I almost always find that I'm coming back with extra goodies. Here is what I've learned: If it's rubber, silicon, or wood and it has no sharp bits (and it's 6 inches long), there is no concern. Cuffs, with metal buckles will be pulled out, and examined by hand. So will anything with batteries, and anything with a plug that is more than 5" long. This will increase the amount of time you spend in security. I wasn't embarrassed- but I was glad that there were no UMs about. Now I check everything in my luggage. Nipple clamps can be confiscated if they are in your carry on luggage. So can anything metal with a chain- like a leash. As far as checked baggage goes, I've never had anything taken, but I have had one baggage handler put in a note with his name and phone number next to a strap on harness.

I find it so much better to fly with my wallet VS 2 checked bags and one carry on .I also tip the hotel for caring for the bags .Not only do you avoid the security for the most part ,you also do not have to wait at baggage claim waiting to ID your luggage . I ask for the concierge or manager then ask if they like wine or give them some cash .i also hate sandals yet i have a set of fly'n ones lol no need to take shoes on and off if they see your feet .Sounds like i shall miss out on a potential note from a baggage handler but its a price i can live with .. quote: ORIGINAL: Evility quote: ORIGINAL: azropedntied I ups /fed ex my stuff ahead and don't deal with security or its lines . Hello vinylsubmission, I've traveled to the Uk, Italy more then once, and to the Usa, with My suitcase filled with toys, I even got checked a bit in Usa, but they didn't find the goodies! (smart to not stuff anything in your handluggage) I never had any problems anywhere.. So I was lucky I guess! I wish you goodluck on your travel. GoddezzT`
