Remember when it was normal to get in playground fights, and you went home and if you didn't give a good accounting of yourself in the fight, your mom would slap the dogfuck outta you and then say,  'Just wait until your FATHER gets home.........'

remember when your mother would not spank you cause she did not want to hurt you but gave you a bar of soap to wash out your mouth and then your father brought out the belt and you wanted the soap instead of getting the belt whipping

i remember when girls had to wear skirts or dresses to school and they couldn't be any shorter than 1 inch above the knee or you would be sent home.  We staged a "sit-in" (remember those) on the quad, during class in 7th grade to get the dress code changed so that girls could wear pants to school.  It worked.  Hurray for peaceful civil disobedience!

I guess Utah really is far behind, here we got like 6 or 7 (though you have to go downtown to get the ones not run by The Mormons)

Remember when Downtown was a fun place to go? with shops and things?

No, I don't.  I knew words at my age no one else knew (maybe not how to spell them) My english teacher was Mrs. Van Watermulen, and I said look, I ain't doing this kinda shit, (she was my next door neighbor) and she pretty much said, for YOU, Ron, it will not be necessary to learn the parts of speech or to diagram a sentence so long as you do well in class participation.........I did ok, and can't even begin to fathom that sordid shit.

I am,
Ron Melby

Remember when making cookies required you to actually use multiple ingredients and a mixer because there was no such thing as "ready-to-bake" anything?
