Bond was a gentleman and seemed mildly but very politely chauvinistic to me.  With all those super macho spy talents and all that boy toy spy gear, I’d be a bit chauvinistic too.

Sometimes I think people associate the bad attitudes of rude idiot chauvinists to the meaning of the word.  You can ‘believe you or you gender is superior at something’ and not treat people badly about it.

I believe that men and women have gender predisposition to roles in life.

Personally, I find the boy laughable.  He did, however, very pointedly remind me of why I Quit dating.

I'm a business owner - of a business that is Growing rather than hitting the skids.  Something he claims women aren't capable of or are no good at.  If we're no good at it, then why is a Woman's business thriving and growing, while all around me in the community I see Male owned businesses going under every day?

I'm a pilot.  That is a traditionally Male hobby/occupation, which is still vastly male dominated - a woman who flies has to be twice as good to be considered half as good, and even after more than 15 years certificated I frequently find male pilots at the airport I fly from to be condesending.  (Though that's more of a problem with the ones that are over the age of 50 - who seem to view it as "cute" that I have a serious appreciation for old war byrds.)  If you look at news stories about crashes - it's not women who are flying and crashing, it's guys.  While males make up the majority of pilots, if women were so bad at doing things that are traditionally male as this guy seems to think, it would only follow that it would be the women who are having at least a higher Percentage of accidents Proportionally.  Funny though, when you hear about a crash on the 6o'clock news, the pilot was male.

I'm a parent.  I raised my oldest child by myself - because the father considered that child to be an Embarassment and therefore abandoned us.  His genetics were as guilty as mine in contributing to the birth defects that were present - so if he had Anything to be 'embarassed' about, it was his own family background and his own lack of honor and self worth in thinking that abandonment of a genetic responcibility was somehow "ok".  (Not surprisingly, ex hubby was a chauvenist, and raised by a chauvenist father.)

All in all, I honestly think the real Problem with the guy is his own poor self image.  He lacks confidence in himself and his place in the world and the scheme of things, and feels intimidated by women.  The only means he subconsciously feels he has at his disposal to level the playing field are the rather juvenile tactics of dehumanization, denegration, and ridicule - in the rather vain hope that by Consciously considering everyone female to be somehow 'less' than himself, they will believe it as well, and give him a bit of ego stroking to boost his flagging self esteem.

-=Is James Bond sexy?=-

I can’t believe that so many women are attracted to Sean Connery in his role as James Bond but don’t understand he sells the same exact chauvinism except with smooth eloquence.  The only difference between this guy and the James Bond persona is this guy willingly breaks the female delusion and that makes him appear less gentile...  that's a no no.

I for one hate Jame bond in all of his incarnations. Always saw him for the pig he is.

Now as for the dude that has the creative mind and actually knows how to do things and makes all his nifty gagets for him.... thats another story :)

I never thought of Bond as being chauvinistic... I always saw him as gentlemanly in the best sense of the word...

Me too. He is a love 'em and leave 'em type but I don't see that as chauvinistic. It may make him an asshole when it comes down to reality, but doesn't mean he sees himself as better due to the dangly bits between his legs. Women are perfectly free to do that as well and some do, as I've seen it happen myself.

Some of the women in the Bond films are brainless. I can live with that - some women are brainless. And so are some men, there are also examples of men's stupidity in those films as well. There are also plenty examples of intelligent women who kick ass and own their sexuality. Granted with some dumb names, but oh well. I loved Halle Barry's character in the Bond flicks and, for all the she wasn't formally educated - she read the Encyclopedia for her education - I loved the very first of the Bond girls in Dr. No.

Resident:

I liked all of the James Bonds because they had different personalities.  Sean Connery embodied sexiness, Roger Moore had some cheeky humor, Pierce Brosnan, again, also very sexy and roles were chauvinistic.  However, this buffoon on the Dr. Phil Show is nothing but a rude, obnoxious twit who deserves to be surrounded by a bunch of peeved women to pummel him for his ignorant comments!!

Remember also.. Bond was a fictional character.

If a guy is going to embrace chavenism..he had better have the money, the intelligence, and the looks to make it worthwhile putting up with it.  Do not mistake chauvinism for self confidence- because the latter is what a woman will find attractive.

I believe that too.  But I also believe that stupidity is an abundant commodity in both sexes and that this guy has it in spades.

It is not so much what you say as how you say it.
