greetings to all,

Back a couple of years ago, while trying to finish my college degree, I did an entire unit on clinical psychology.  I got bored one day, and looked up the classification of BDSM and other related behaviours (sadism, masochism, fetish....)

The DSM IV (the latest version of the DSM) classifies BDSM and other related sexual behaviours as mental illness *only* if there is a very definite interruption of a persons daily life (the fetish/activity is so obsessed over that that obsession impairs their ability to attend to their responsibilities) or their capacity to relate to others (they would rather stay at home and masturbate with their favourite pair of stockings or watch a porn movie relating to their fetish or interest than go out with family or friends).

well wishes,
