Prescription Drug Coverage - 6/1/2008 7:03:16 PM

Asking for information: my prescription drug coverage is capped at about $2,500 a year, which means it runs out in late summer or early fall as i take a sleeping pill and nexium every day; a total of over $350 a month in costs.

Does A/anyone know of a prescription drug policy which can be purchased by individuals that i could buy to supplement my primary coverage?  i've looked around but so far, no joy.

Thanks for the information.

Have you checked with the patient assistance programs that are offered by the drug manufacturers?

Try RxAssist here.
And NeedyMeds here.

Also, are your meds available in generic, or is something similar available in generic that might be on the $5 generics programs available at Walmart, Walgreens, Costco, etc.?

you could also talk to your doctor...perhaps a less expensive medication will work just as well. God bless 'em...most doctors do not think to ask their patients if they have coverage. Also...don't be afraid to ask for the free samples. When i worked in a doctors office the amt. of samples destroyed because of experation dates was shocking!

Okay, this is what happened last year.  Onna my meds is nexium; ifi dun take i get sick to my tomach every night.  It's like $160 a month and i ran out of coverage but my sh*theel ins company wouldn't send me a letter to that effect, which the PPA requires to apply for free drugs.  The other drug i take,  a sleeping pill, isn't available from any assistance program whatsoever; so i'm just sucking up insomnia.

There are no generics available for either drug.

i will check the link you posted erin...ty.

All Rx company executives are doomed to hell IMHO.
