Welcome!

This site is pretty good.  I also like Literotica's BDSM Discussion forum.

As far as books go, I'd suggest Screw the Roses, Send Me the Thorns and SM 101.

One excellent resource is the Greenery Press series of books.

www.greenerypress.com

[conflict of interest warning] They do publish all of my books that are in print now.

Another resource is to check out the organizations in your area.  Unfortunately, some are 21+ but others allow 18 year olds.  You can learn techniques and also interact with people who share your interests.  Just try Googling (BDSM and a few descriptions of your area)  ie south florida miami palm beach etc

Welcome.

Check out the books in my signature. Those are a decent place to start. As for the rest, ask questions...it's hard to just give open-ended advice!

You might also google TNG (The Next Generation) and see if there's a chapter in your area. That group is for 18-35 (or 39 depending).

I think some of the TNG groups are 21 and over. check yahoo groups.

My favorite of all time is: http://www.steel-door.com/Chamber.html

get yourself to some local meetings and munches and follow your natural social instincts ... If you feel drawn to someone and you can turst them .. strike up and conversation and a friendship ... there is no magical mystery to entering into things ... just find people who you think "Yeah, I value what you ahve to say" .. and listen to them until you feel safe and confdent to listen to yourself .. be that 3 weeks or 8 years

and have fun ... remember .. life is .. well .. supposed to be fun

There is more to life than online...

Yr at a great age; on the very threshold of adulthood.  Don't get too caught up in D/s to the point where You forget, it's time to decide whether to go to college or what kind of job You think You might like; where You want to live; what sorts of personalty traits You like/love/hate in a partner; and so forth.  Try to exercise some caution; don't drink until Yr 21; don't get arrested for anything, don't forget to use condomns.  This is a very special time in Yr life and while the future may seem limitless now, in actual fact Yr options and life will soon be shaped by Yr own choices and by forces outside Yr control.

Have a blast...You'll never be this beautiful, this eager, this open, this excited ever again.  Each stage of life has it's rewards but, o, i have such lovely memories of being 18.  Best wishes.

None of the chapters I know are...in fact, they were created speficically for18+ because other groups didn't want the 18-20 year olds. The age was up to 35 in the beginning (most are now up to 39, I heard) so that experienced people would be available to teach the newcomers.

But, I could totally be wrong!

I have NO conflict of interest in advising ANYONE young or old just finding their way in this lifestyle to pick up a copy of John's "Loving Dominant" book.

While Steel-door is better than CastleRealm, I dislike the site immensely.  2/3 of the writing is about how fake everyone else is and presents a very "one true way" to do bdsm face.

xxblushesxx -> RE: new kid on the block (6/3/2008 2:13:32 PM)

Of course, there are always differing opinions.
