You can live without gasoline but you can't live without food for very long.
And after 3 days without water you'd be in serious trouble.
I think we're going to see the dollar start to climb again seeing as the U.S. is the, "breadbasket of the world."

im surprised nobodys figured out a way to use garbage as fuel like in back to the future.... that would solve oil problems

Garbage and sewage is used as fuel in many places. Methane can be derived from both, and burning garbage can be used the same as burning a fossil fuel. Unfortunately, it's cost prohibitive in many areas.
