i have a lil problem; i always feel like i have to pee, and i pee a lot.  i wake up at night to pee too.  i don't have diabetes or a UTI, and i cannot take any of the Rx drugs for this problem because i have certain tummy problems.

A/anyone know of a solution to this problem..or s'thing that would relieve it to a degree?

TY.

Urge incontinence.
There are urologists specializing in women's urology around these days. Kegels are the first line of defense. Make sure you're doing them right, you can buy things that help you do so.
Beyond that, sometimes a thin tampon is recommended to be worn because it acts like a splint, not allowing the neck of the bladder to bend.
Medications should be discussed with a doctor because you might be able to use some. And surgery can be done in some cases.

Urologist, stat.

How much water do you drink?  I've had very few rare nights in my life where I sleep 8 hours without a pee break.  If I keep my intake really low with lots of caffeine, I can go 4 hours or so in between, but I am up to about 6-7 bottles of water a day now, so hourly or so is more likely.

It's inconvenient at times, but I know how to prepare for it.

On the other hand I don't always feel like I HAVE to pee, I just have to pee a lot and I feel it when I go.

For you I'd also suggest kegels and possible medical intervention if it's really causing discomfort.

What about a bladder infection, did they test for that? It is different then an UTI.
Bladder spasms can cause it too.

Since UTI stands for "urinary tract infection", it's not different than a bladder infection.  One is just more specific than the other.  The bladder is part of the urinary tract, is where most UTI's occur, and the diagnosis and treatment are the same for both.

i know what UTI stands for and a person can have a bladder infection without having an UTI and visa versa.

I have a kind of strange one for getting up at night.  When I had high blood pressure, I always had to get up 2 times or more per night, and it didn't matter how much water I'd had after 6pm, say. (I've never had blood sugar problems.)

Now that it's under control, it's rare that I get up during the night, unless I'm drinking right up to 10pm or so.

You didn't mention whether or not you've had this problem or any trouble with UTIs in the past, but if so, and you have other symptoms such as pelvic pressure, pain or discomfort, painful intercourse,  bladder pain/spasms, or painful, frequent urination (day and night), then Interstitial Cystitis is a possibility.  Other conditions can cause these symptoms as well, such as endometriosis, so I have to agree that a visit to a urologist is in order...stat.  Good luck!

take the time to see a urologist  so they can determine the cause....sometimes it is due to weak abdominal muscles in which kegel exercises can help...it could be a result in changes in hormone levels  which can be corected through hormone supplementation...in my case it is a result neuro damage and now hormones changes as well  but they can't totally fix but with use of meds and retraining can extend the holding time, and even UTI;s should be ruled out again  as if early in the infection  sometimes tests will show negative when there is in fact an infection, it could also be related to urinary crystals  as well or a symptom of kidney problems.

People here can give you all sorts of advice but it could end up being the wrong advice for your particular problem whiich could lead to bigger problems down the road because you held off seeking a doctors diagnosis
