i had a freak accident this morning. The lil one ran out the back door and ol mom was in hot pursuit. The screen door was wide open. The door handle is about 4 inches long by 1 inch wide..i guess you might call it a latch type. It was pointed to the side...pointed to me. I was running at full speed and ran too close to the door. I was impaled by the handle. It went into my arm just below the elbow and went all the way in. I just looked down and thought "well...my life just changed". When i pulled back the muscle was still on the handle (yeah...i know...ew..) I asked the ER doctor if my arm would ever be the same and he said he did not think so. I have to see a surgeon on Monday. Keep me in your prayers?

I'm assuming they have you on plenty of meds? And hey..... there is a reason they send you to a surgeon, the ER guy doesn't know what he's talking about. I bet they can do wonders.

yeah to the meds. They haven't done a whole lot for the pain but i doubt anything will for awhile. You are so sweet to say that!! The handle traveled upward, splitting the muscle in half. It is going to be a long haul to fix this mess. What upset me the most was the lil one came running back when he heard me scream and he saw the whole thing. From then until we left the ER (11a-8pm) he did not utter a word. Nothing.

let him take care of you. at his age, he probably thinks it's his fault and now he's "bad". if you let him take care of you - fetching you things for as long as his attention span holds - it'll help him and it'll give you the chance to reassure him he's a good boy. just my two cents
