Pam,
Holly asked me to write and let you know what has happened.
She is fine. Crabby and demanding to be released. She is being Holly.
Yesterday our son had a fever, so in Holly's eyes everything else needed to be put on the back burner. The doctor did not agree with her but made a few changes in his plan.He did the surgery last night as opposed to today. He was amazed that not only did she not get any worse but actually improved slightly. The surgery he did was to open her arm up and clean it, fix the damaged muscles and pack it with gauze.
She had to stay overnight for IV's. She was dehydrated and needed fluids plus the antibiotics.
Since our son was sick Holly wanted a private room. They put her on the heart floor and do not allow cell phones. She was pissed but it was the only private room they had and she wanted Matt with her in case he got sicker. He is fine.
The packing needs to be changed every day. Holly says she can do it herself but the doctor
feels that is not possible. She is refusing visiting nursing services for now. Stubborn as they come. The doctor told her if all goes well she will be released after he sees her this morning. She just called and said she is ready to go. The doctor has not been in yet.
Thank you for the concern you have shown to Holly. I will keep you informed if there are any changes.
