ORIGINAL: LadyHibiscus Oh wow! That crayons thing reminds me of the xmas project we did in 3rd grade... which would NEVER EVER be allowed to happen in a skool now our precious creatures being tooooooo fragile and delicate! You will need: half gallon paper milk or juice cartons, tops cut off red dinner taper candles green crayons red crayons paraffin to extend the wax a bigass trash bucket hot plate and pots you dont care about. Fill up the trash bucket with cold water (if you are nice to the custodian he will lend you a hose) Melt the crayons in the pots, one for red one for green, you will have to watch out because it will get HOT! The teacher will deal with this bit, mostly. Take some of the wax, either colour, and pour an inch into the milk carton (teacher's job) then set the candle in the middle and HOLD IT until it sets up Once all these are done, take wax of the other colour and fill the milk carton one third to half way up Really fast PLUNGE the milk carton into the cold water, but not so it goes under the water!! The wax flows up the sides and creates wax lace! When it is cold and set, peel off the milk carton and give it to your mom. Yes, this really happened, circa 1970 or so. Damn that was a fun afternoon! AND NO ONE GOT HURT! Not even a teeeeeny burn. Imagine! Yanno...we did something like this in grade school art class only we used...if I remember correctly...ice cubes in the carton itself so that when we poured the hot wax in, it created lacy candles.
