I am doing well.  This is a fairly calm week all things considered.  I am sure that by Sunday I will be bat guano crazy though.

Butterhead and the otherhalf are at the park right now.  There is actually SUN and a BLUE sky!  WOOT!

Phil is doing pretty well.  A bit tired, allergies are getting to him, and he is trying to clean-up two houses.  Although tonight the movie that he is in is premiring.  So we will be going to that.  I think that he is planning for us to have dinner first with a couple of his long-time friends that I have yet to meet.  I am looking forward to a HUGE tub of movie theater popcorn.  Although. . . I have not figured out how to protect my nice clothes at the same time.  Grrrrrrr.

ShaharThorne -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (3/18/2010 4:21:45 PM)

Oy...Lizard is having trouble understanding algebra.  She simply cannot work on the problems and she is admitting this to me.  I never could understand algebra when I was in high school so I took basic math which did not flunk me but I could get As in the classes.

I am afraid that she has a learning disability and she needs to be tested.  I have to go talk to the counselor on Monday before leaving Austin to keep up with appointments at my MHMR.  If we can get her tested and placed in an appropriate math class, her grades will go up.  This failing math has her depressed and a bit upset because no one has been listening to her.  I am listening now.

Aylee -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (3/19/2010 7:29:27 AM)

Good Morning All!!!!!

And how is everyone today?

Shahar, that does not sound like a learning disability to me.  It is possible that she needs some remedial math or extra tutoring though.

Good Morning, Aylee!

After being out and about doing errands yesterday, i'm staying home and doing 3 loads of laundry.  My oldest daughter is coming on Monday to stay for my next treatment.

(Did you see the fuzzy head pic on my profile?)

I see it!  All I can say is that you are still beautiful.  With out all the hair, just more of the beauty of your smile comes through.  At least that is what I noticed.  It took me a moment to figure out which picture because of this.

fluffypet61 -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (3/19/2010 8:12:43 AM)

Master Rich commented on the smile, too.  The only trouble with losing the hair is that He can't grab it or pull it to control me.  Somehow i think He will find something else!

GreedyTop -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (3/19/2010 8:30:17 AM)

Even me having short hair and not long enough for anyone grabbing it, I find that when they put their hand across my throat and pulling my head back is just as hot!
~sigh~ drools at the thought and fans self....dayum think I need a ciggie

DesFIP -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (3/19/2010 8:53:35 AM)

I'm betting lizard is ADHD. The inability to organize at home, the struggle with classes she isn't interested in. If so, then canceling the music trip will be punishing her for having a disease, and that shouldn't be done.

The doctor last year said my son's grades weren't bad enough to start him on medication. This year he's been in trouble multiple times at school, with the local police and the grades were sliding. He's been on 20 mgs Adderal for only two months and no more phone calls from the assistant principal and the grades are up a full 10 points. Even in the classes he was nearly failing in November.

The difference is night and day.

Fluffy, you look good in your pic, love the smile.

And here is another possiblity.  Thanks Des, I had not connected all of that as well.

Thanks, Jeff.  Would you accept 10 fluffy points?  They are a little like snow flakes that don't melt or dandilion puffs that don't fly away.  You can even share them without losing them.

ShaharThorne -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (3/19/2010 12:24:43 PM)

She has been DXed with a mood disorder and her father refuses to do anything about it (he thinks a counselor is all she needs).  I did start her on Benedryl  and she is acting a lot better (I know this drug is used by the p-docs for kids).  She still get upset, especially when I ask her to try on some size 12 pants (she likes them tight).  Right how she is sleeping and I will get her up at 3 so we can do her ID card (last day of doing so).  She wants to get a part time job busing tables so she can have some extra money (Bo uses her check from SS to get food with since he does make too much for stamps).  I feel that grades need to come up before any job possibilities.  She was able to pass her French exam with one error (98).  Her BF feels she should go to a Twilight class/study group to help her along.

Of course there is the suspension of cussing in front of a teacher and the cat fight where the other girl was sent back to her original school (she started the fight).  No one messes with my girl (Bo used to have a belt in judo and has taught Lizard a few moves).

This has me upset quite a bit.  I never was like this when I was her age (I did flunk out of AP English until they moved me to a regular English class where I was allowed to teach Greek Mythology since I knew it by the age of 5).  I did not have fights or cussed in front of the teacher (one time in front of dad, but that was due to the fishing line being cut by the trawling blades).  I did call a boy a bitch since he was trying to get me mad.

I am at the end of my rope.  I don't want Lizard to take Summer School since they only handle 2 courses.  I am willing to stay here a bit (still make my appointments with my MHMR and get my meds) and help her out with French, biology, geography and English.  I got nothing better to do expect playing the the computer back at home and being with Mom.

BTW, she does not hand in work...I did that when I was a senior because I had the "nothing will happen to me" phrase...LOL!

Now..to take a shower and get her up.I am still getting her the state ID in case she is allowed to take the trip to NYC.
