Good afternoon folks,
I went to meet my tutor today to have my 1:1 tutorial today in regards to my dissertation...I was so upheat...and that f***** challenged me and my topic now [>:]
For whatever reasons he is very keen that I compare a certain aspect from the UK to how it is done in Germany...great...I get his point, but thats nowhere near as exciting as the topic I was keen on doing [>:][>:][>:]
Attempts to get myself out of it also didn't work as he gave me several links where I find good research papers about international comparison stuff [8|] great [>:] And then some people think those tutorials would be helpful...when for me it was now more confusing [&o] However, he offered to meet me again on monday that we can talk about how I get on with it and if I struggle too much with it then I can do a smaller version of the topic I originally wanted to do...however, experience tells me when they are soooooo keen on something then it would be wise to try to do what they are looking forward to read instead of sticking to my topic *sigh*...well, will find out this weekend how it goes [8|]
On the plus side, I got my last essay back and passed with a nice comfortable mark [sm=skiprope.gif] which means that now I am unable to miss out on my degree [sm=banana.gif][sm=banana.gif][sm=banana.gif][sm=banana.gif][sm=banana.gif]
Because in our final year we can fail up to 45 subject points (each subject has at least 15 points, so if I would fail 3 subjects that would leave me using up all 45 subject points which are allowed and I would be able to re-do these essays....however, if I would fail 4 I would not get the degree and the assessment board would need to discuss if I would get permission to re-do those subjects in another year or not...understandably not something I would be keen on).
So now as I failed one essay for ridicioulus reasons at the beginning of the year I knew I have only 30 points left to use, and I knew that 2 results are outstanding, my report with 15 ponts and my dissertation itself which counts 30 points, as it is counted double, therefore I could not afford to potentially fail both of them....ergo needless to say, I am relieved to have passed the report (I always liked my report but was unsure if that is what the university wanted in the first place) as now I have only the dissertation left and in the unlikely event that I would fail that one I would still be in the 45 points allowance spectrum, so that I could re-do it without redoing the year [:)] Gosh, my life is about to become mine again, at last [sm=banana.gif][sm=banana.gif][sm=banana.gif][sm=banana.gif][sm=banana.gif]
