Is it meatloaf mail?  Surely the post office would consider that hazmat, eh?

eta.  Oops.  I didn't mean that your meatloaf was like that, Aylee!

My mom has an ancient copy of that and it has a huuuuuge scorch mark on the cover...she turned on the wrong burner.  I guess it smelled really nasty for a bit!

soul2share -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (8/14/2011 4:56:41 PM)

My mom's BC cookbook has pages falling out, splatters from ingredients on the pages, and is probably 45 years old....and still one of the best cookbooks out there!  I miss mine.....I had the BC one and the Better Homes and Gardens one, and lost them during a move.....have never gotten around to replacing it......{sigh}.

Aylee -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (8/14/2011 5:12:28 PM)

Yeah, my mom had a cookbook like that once upon a time. A 1963 teal-colored McCall's Cookbook.

I STOLE it. It is mine now. Muwhahahahaha! [:)]

I have chocolate pudding. I already had some though. I had to eat some. To make sure that I am ingesting enough milk, ya know.

Aylee, you do know that CAKE has milk in it too, should you eat a chocolate triple layer cake with fudge icing to insure you are getting enough milk as well?

Good idea! I have a couple slices like that in the freezer. I think that it has 6 or 8 layers so that makes it 2 to 3 times as good for me! I might have to go and get one out and eat it. YAY! [:)]

You do know the diet rules, right? Here you are if you have never seen me post them. They are what keeps me happy!

1. Calories are heat units; therefore frozen foods do not count. Like ice-cream, popsicles, and pies.
2. If the cookie is broken the calories fell out.
3. If no one sees you eat it, it does not count.
4. If it is the last piece of something, it does not count because it needed to be et'-up and so you are really just doing the food a favor.
5. When you eat with someone else, calories don’t count if you don’t eat more than they do.
6. Food used for medicinal purposes NEVER counts, such as hot chocolate, brandy, toast and Sara Lee Cheesecake.
7. Things licked off knives and spoons have no calories if you are in the process of preparing something. Examples are peanut butter on a knife making a sandwich and ice cream on a spoon making a sundae.
8. Foods that have the same color have the same number of calories. Examples are: spinach and pistachio ice cream; mushrooms and white chocolate.
9. NOTE: Chocolate is a universal color and may be substituted for any other food color.
10. Anything consumed while standing over the kitchen sink, has no calories.
11. If you fatten up everyone else around you, then you look thinner.
12. Late-night snacks have no calories. The refrigerator light is not strong enough for the calories to see their way into the calorie counter.
13. Movie-related foods do not have calories because they are part of the entertainment package and not part of one's personal fuel. Example: milk duds, buttered popcorn, junior mints and Tootsie Rolls
14. When drinking a diet soda while eating a candy bar, the calories in the candy bar are canceled by the diet soda.
15. If you eat the food off someone else's plate, it doesn't count.
16. If you eat standing up the calories all go to your feet and get walked off.
17. Food eaten at Christmas parties has 0 calories, courtesy of Santa.

That's my kind of diet Aylee, not practical for me, but I does like it! [;)]

jlf1961 -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (8/16/2011 1:02:15 PM)

Aylee, I am at 274 down from 360, your diet rules would make my doctor angry.  Besides, I am perfectly happy on the diet I am on, it is not that strict, includes most of the foods I like, just in moderation, AND it is working.

My highest weight was a bit higher than the 360, that was my first mark, now I am heading toward my second mark of 250.  After that, it will be 200.

My blood pressure is down (it was high even on the BP meds) my heart is sounding better, AND, most important of all, I am in jeans that are less than a 52 waist.

YAY!

That is good to hear. I have heard that pomegranate juice is good for lowering your blood pressure. Have you tried it?

soul2share -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (8/16/2011 4:58:52 PM)

I'm really craving a baked potato right now....but there's no way I'm turning on the oven!  So I'm settling for a small bowl of ice cream....chocolate sauce, nuts and whipped cream.  It'll work, I'm sure!  [:)]

Ya know, you CAN microwave them. Put some butter/oleo/shortening on them, wrap in a paper-towel, poke with a fork several times, and cook for 4 minutes. [:)]

Or go to Wendy's.

DesFIP -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (8/16/2011 6:09:24 PM)

Microwave first,or toaster oven. Or microwave and then ten minutes in a toaster oven so the skin isn't soggy.

jlf1961 -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (8/16/2011 9:40:15 PM)

I have come to the conclusion that the three 9/11 conspiracy theorists on this board are suffering from dementia, paranoia, and a few other mental disorders.  That is the only thing that could possibly explain their denial of facts.

Either that or they are (insert low IQ number here) IQ (insert plural derogatory term here)

soul2share -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (8/16/2011 9:50:07 PM)

Aylee and Celeste, I don't have a microwave....*gasp*....I don't have all the upgrades in this place i had in the last place.  I haven't had the extra $$$ to buy one yet, and I really don't want to give up the counter space either.  So I have to do it the old fashioned way.

But, the ice cream did work!

Aylee -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (8/17/2011 7:41:00 AM)

Our microwave gets used for heating leftovers and thawing meat quickly.

Well, when I am home. From what I understand, the other half does not always heat his leftovers. He feels that they are good enough cold. I know that he has always said that his mother was not a good cook (he uses SPAM and pork'n'bean casserole as an example). But dayum. . . when cold leftovers are GOOD in comparison? That is just crazy.

soul2share -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (8/17/2011 10:53:45 AM)

Aylee, call me weird, but I love cold pasgetti.  Sorta like a pasta salad!
