OK.. I'm going to "Ask A Switch" here...

After the multitude of posts here and in other places about feeling "boxed in" by having to choose an identifier for your profile, I would like to offer this possibility. How would you feel if they had a "I Just Want To Play" option? Whatcha think?

I still want the slider bar from bottom / sub to top / dom on the ends.

I think an "I just want to play" option is a good one, but I think the slider bar is an exceptional one. Its been my experience that most switchs, myself included, lean one way or the other.

Perhaps, instead, they should have one that states "I really don't know" because one can always state that they are "looking" for play in their profile or under their "Actively Seeking"

I love the idea of the slider bar! You could change it from day to day depending on your mood - LOL.

I am an active Domme and slave every single day. Many switches go through moods where they will be closer to one end or the other for months or years at a time. Many who consider themselves Doms have written to me and said that they have secret submissive yearnings. I think that many have a mix of feelings and are afraid to admit it publicly.

would have to see the slider bar option before I vote on it. but I like the idea of having a "I don't know" choice. Not sure about the "looking for play" option, because that can mean different things. (like for some, play can and does include sex.)

It's the internet. Communities must now conform to the limitations of whoever programmed the database for the site. If you don't see yourself in the available menu options, you don't exist.

The slider bar is a really great idea. It would be more difficult to use for searches than the basic sub/dom/switch/etc. Could be done by allowing the searcher to select a minimum % dom or sub, but I doubt that the people in charge of CM would consider doing the programming for that.

Instead of an 'I don't know' option, I'd like to see a 'Undisclosed' option. I like the idea of being who I am, w/o a label attached, and people having to work from my words.

Primary Orientation Slider bar... with desired sex age range check boxes.
Optional Secondard Orientation Slider bar.. with desired sex age range check boxes.

Two check boxes for Sado and Maso each having a
Sadist slider bar o meter...
Masochist slider bar o meter...

The following three options in terms of play positions.
Top, bottom, topping from bottom.

"I want to play" Option works for those why just want that non committal experiement point.

The slide bar is cute.

A lot of switches from my expience don't want to just pick one cause at least from my perspective i know to some I feel completely submissive to. Others completely dominant . then there are those who i'm not quite sure. But once i commit to that person i am in that role i'm still a switch, just in that role with that person.

The "i want to play" Just wouldn't work for me. I'm not here just to play i'm here for something real and deep. it might work for some, and not just switches. At first when i read it i was offended cause I would never consider this play. But i had to remind myself i don't speak for everyone.

LOL! Lotus, dnomyar...too funny! ;)

I too would like it if we could have another option for "weekend play" or "full time TPE." It would be beneficial too for the dominants who are better labeled as tops than lifestyle dominants.

I would like general options of top and bottom, or even top/switch, bottom/switch. Hmm this could get complicated.

I wonder tho.....how much of this is because alot of people don't want to look in the profile to find out? And for those who have gotten burned, remember they could still lie.

Nope. That's not going to work. There are those of us who feel Top =/= Dominant and bottom =/= sub.

To Lotus: I think it could work...people are honest and then we can weed them out...or not.
