I can't say that I've done puppy play, but I have done some pony play.  I, as the trainer, definitely enjoyed it.  She was my war pony for the evening, and I liked washing her, grooming her and getting her all harnessed up and all the training.  Her reactions, nuzzling, leaning and all, told me that she loved it as well.  (She told me so when she became human again)  They don't always obey, but mine did.

I know puppy play isn't the same as pony play, but I hoped I helped.

Real puppies aren't perfectly trained in one session. It can take months of puppy kindergarten before obedience training is complete. By which time they aren't exactly puppies any more.

Real puppies get into the waste paper basket and tear up sheets of paper. They chew on slippers and socks. They grab their food dish and slam it around the house if hungry.

Real puppies do not obey, they act out their instincts. They need to be taught not to bite or climb on people unasked.

One of the things people love about puppy play is that they don't have to be obedient. They can be destructive, bite, growl etc. If he doesn't want that, then he shouldn't be doing puppy play.

I agree with what Des Said it is tru that so many like pet play becouse of that they can get away with more things than a human slave can
For me I have always been a Puppy even when i was little i knew i was somewhat of a puppy it took me time to take and react on it but i always knew that i was difren before i knew about BDSM i knew that i had puppy and K-9  behavours and thouts of being a puppy and that is who i am
And i know others who are this way on how they are and i know so many who are pets play just becouse they can get away with more things
For me im a puppy who is very obedient might growl and bark in play but would never do anyting onpurpose just becouse i think i could get away with it as a puppy

~FR~

I'm not very much into puppy play myself, but I met someone once who gave a presentation on puppy play.  She indicated that puppy play was something that was a sort of 'reward' for her - a time to relax and to just let go of all of her other responsibilities in all ways.  As other people have said, some puppies are 'naughty' sometimes and get into things, chew, act out, etc.  They do not always 'obey' or the like, but love and adore their owner's attention.  Some are playful, some shy, some bouncy, some clumsy, some rambunctious.  Some people who are into puppy play decide what breed of puppy they decide to be.  A Golden Lab puppy might act much differently than a poodle, for instance!  Have fun!

MsStarlett -> RE: being a puppy slave... (6/5/2008 7:34:26 PM)

Hmmm... Interesting that I noticed this thread.  My new boy is coming to see me for the first time this weekend.  He is obviously into Puppy Play.  I've never had a pup before.  Considering the fact that I already have him wearing a choke chain whenever he is not at work (he keeps it in his pocket then) and sleeps with his leash attached to the head board... I believe he's probably pretty obedient.  Off hand, I would say that he's more interested in adoring me - I can go for that! - licking, laying his head in my lap to be scratched and petted, and having me teach him hand signals... I even promised to make him a butt plug tail.

I think he jolly well knows that if he misbehaves I'm going to beat the hell out of him.  I don't let my 4 legged dogs get away with that kind of garbage.  I'll put the shock collar on his happy butt if he misbehaves as mentioned above.

MsStarlett, can I assume you don't tend to have labs as pets? Labs stay puppy like for years. It's one of the basic things about the breed. And it's something any reputable breeder tells a prospective puppy buyer. They aren't aggressive but it takes two to three years to break them of jumping, tearing up tissues etc. At the same time, they will allow kids to pull their ears and tails so they're great family dogs.

Now Malamutes train a lot faster. But they aren't great family dogs, they need to be watched around small children. Different breeds have different characteristics.

WalterRego -> RE: being a puppy slave... (6/6/2008 8:41:36 AM)

Being a puppy is being able to escape from words and  over-thought, over analyzed human emotions and fears. It's about feeling and expressing total devotion, loyalty and love for your owner. Not with words, but with body language. Wagging your tail, sounds, the expression in your eyes.

And for your owner to have your unquestioning love, desire to please and play. To know that anytime he or she wants affection, you are more than willing to give it or recieve it, that when he or she wants to play, you're up for it. That you look to him or her for just about everything, in a simple non-complicated unquestioning way beyond words.

It's warm, furry, soft and happy. It's not that you always must obey, it's that you've put aside those thoughts which as a human would cause you not to or question commands. So you can give yourself over to obeying because it feels good and right to. It liberates you to  simply be able to respond to roll over, sit, heel or whatever you're trained to do.

Especially if you're a person who tends to think too much, getting into puppy space is one of the most liberating,  happy wonderful feelings you can have.

I was just goiing to mention this to the OP:

many of the Puppy/kitty/pony players I know have multiple animals they play. each animal has its own characteristics... depending on the person sometimes they can choose which animal they are going to be...sometimes they won't know until they are deep into head space.

the thing that intrigued me was the "puppy Slave"  part... while I'm not putting down any form of play...most of the people I have talked to will usually be a puppy sometimes and slave other times... and while you can train your puppy to do tricks and obey orders...go to store and get this shopping list taken care of...is generally an order for the slave more then the puppy. Not saying you can't combine it all.. but the experience of those I have come across usually just means seperating the two(or three or four)
but again its more about you finding what works for you:)

Cheers
Skully

PuppyGirlMae -> RE: being a puppy slave... (6/6/2008 5:05:34 PM)

As a puppy, I am very different than I am as a little girl. As a little girl, I am prissy and a goody and don't want humiliation, discipline or rough play. As a puppy, I can be very naughty and I enjoy things such as humiliation, discipline and primal play. I can also be a very obedient guard dog for the right owner, but it's not as kinky or as much fun. If you would like more info on different types of puppy play, feel free to look over the puppy play negotiation form. www.puppyplaypride.com. Yes, I admit, I am pimping my own site. Hope it helps. :P

michelleryder -> RE: being a puppy slave... (6/6/2008 11:41:26 PM)

Well i've never been classified as to what sort of puppy i am so i suppose imust just be a mut!

shimson -> RE: being a puppy slave... (6/7/2008 12:57:53 AM)

i think that it depende on the slaves point of view (and offcourse the Dom's)
some subs like to be the naughty one that will subdue as some doms likes to conquer the slave, and find dealing with ones that allready submisives and yerning to obey  boring .

in the other hand their is others like me  for example the the Submisive part in the bdsm is  the main thing in their point of viwe, that wish to learn how to submit and desire to be like a Plasticine in the dom's hands.

however even if you wish to become a puppy slave, you have a very long and hard way until you can learn your owner, until you will be her puppy.

Puppy4goodHome -> RE: being a puppy slave... (6/7/2008 5:48:54 AM)

don't bite unless you know you can with ther person
I will nip at someone if i know that they like that typ of play that is a borader not to cross
i niped last nite at the local play party LOL

just if you are told to stop do it dont just keep doing somthing i know that there are things that we puppys can get away with but there are limitations you can only learn them by watching and paying atention to You Master as you are puppy you soak and take in all the energy around you

muts can be very fun you can take what you are and who you are and look at your behavours as a puppy look at what shtings you like to do how you behave around others and around you Owner trainer and then read up on difrent breeds to see what breed you are ;)

For me, it all started as puppy play. Then during a scene, I made these oo oo oo ah ah ah noises. The Dom involved in the scene started calling me a "f*&^ monkey". Well, that was it. Puppies can be fun, but a monkey, now, that's an adventure.

DaintyDemure -> RE: being a puppy slave... (6/8/2008 10:53:49 PM)

When I am in puppy mode it is usually an hour or so before bed and stay that way all night. Sometimes on weekends also when My Lady wants time to herself. I am put in fistmitts and tackbooties so I am kept down on all fours and pretty much helpless. I have to keep one mitt touching the floor at all times or I may feel a swat of Her cane on my butt. I am not allowed any speech or eye contact with her. Being her puppy is a way of being put away and her not having to pay much attention to me giving her time to herself without having to lock me away in some closet. If she wants more privacy I will be caged or just hooded and allowed to lie at her feet by the couch. I prefer this because we can still touch with her feet on me lying there but with no communication. To go pee I crouch over a breadpan and if I need a drink a baby bottle is left on the floor for me. If I'm not caged I can go anywhere in the house but must not disturb My Lady or I will feel the cane.
