You bring reality into an equation where it has no place at all. I'm not into sophistry, however. If you cannot find meaning in anything else than pure hard facts, there's little else to discuss. That, too, is the order of things.

No thanks, I'll stick to my Puligny Montrachet. "Truth or consequences" indeed [:D] .

PS: [8|]
And I'll keep my Chassagne Montrachet. "Les Chenovettes", right next to Le Montrachet. [8D]

There actually is a town called Truth or Consequences in New Mexico. I couldn't make up something like that.

At times the veracity of a story matters less than the allegory contained within it. The meaning's more important than whether it's based in facts.

The word for that is "truthiness".

You do realize these sentences contradict each other, right?

Are you and celticlord that limited that you cannot see there is meaning beyond that which can be found in facts? Never thought a song, or a novel, or a painting had meaning? A joke, a word, a legend? The Bible? And what makes those things, if it's not stories, allegories and metaphores?

Good god [:(] .

Songs, poems, novels, paintings, and even jokes have meanings. Those meanings will be found in the underlying facts.

Reality is only fact. There is no dimension of reality that is not fact.

And yes, kittin, that is the order of things.

Thanks, I'm tired and you said it better than I would have anyway....Have a good night

Been through it many times...Sweet home New Mexico...

Silly frogs, dont they know white flags mean surrender...

I know you think that I shouldn't still love you,
Or tell you that.
But if I didn't say it, well I'd still have felt it
where's the sense in that?

I promise I'm not trying to make your life harder
Or return to where we were

I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be

I know I left too much mess and
destruction to come back again
And I caused nothing but trouble
I understand if you can't talk to me again
And if you live by the rules of "it's over"
then I'm sure that that makes sense

I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be

And when we meet
Which I'm sure we will
All that was there
Will be there still
I'll let it pass
And hold my tongue
And you will think
That I've moved on....

I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be

I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be

I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be

See?
I've been telling you people that "torture" isn't that bad!
Our Marines couldn't hold a candle to Tomas de Torquemada.
And he was with the Catholic church!
If I had kids they'd be waterboarded before they were 8.
"Hee, hee, hee, do it AGAIN Daddy, do it again!"

Neither Rome nor St Augustine has spoken.

Personally, I tend more towards Philip K. Dick:  "Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away."

And that which does not require belief is....fact.

Ah, but you do a breathtakingly funny imitation of Rome's speaking.

Ironic, because Augustine and his group had little use for reality or for fact.  Myself, I've always preferred Pelagius (and not just because he was a heretic).
