Hah!

Just think about this entire fracking situation.  Thread, youtube, topic of same, purpose of forum, and the infinite mirror game implied by all of this.  I mean this simple little thread has just blown my FVCKING MIND with the paradoxical nature of it all.  Jules Verne, Clark, Kipling, Orwell got NOTHIN' on reality stranger than, et.al.  Er, Hemingway probably woulda seen this coming, but he shot himself so he doesn't count.  And William Gibson's been on the money so far... but mostly, reality wins.

Me too. How can 'civial union' instead of mariage be so evil and so wrong and so unfair and a violation of our rights, yet when someone does get a cival union its praised as groundbreaking and a new era of openmindedness and acceptance.

Atricle also said 'The civil and a following religious service of thanksgiving were both held at St. Paul's Church in Concord.' and yet there is no outcry againt 'seperate but equal'.

Or were you talking abotu some other kind of paradox?

You started this in the other thread, and then ran away when I asked you a pointed question.
http://www.collarchat.com/m_1907177/mpage_2/tm.htm

A marriage license is a  civil procedure, not a religious one.

Now you are claiming that allowing someone to have a church ceremony after their license and civil  wedding violates 'seperate but equal'?

Do you even understand that that term is different from 'separation of church and state'. and that neither apply to getting married in a civil ceremony?

Then by all means clear it up for me ..... should 'civial union' and 'mariage' be considered one thing or two things?

As pointed out, 'marriage' is not an exclusively religious word or concept.

I  think reality already dictates that it is not...what reason would I have for wanting to make something exclusively religious that isn't that way now?

Could you please tell me the word I ~should~ be using? Typing in the phrase 'the as of yet unnamed procedure that is used by some religious orgnizations that joins two souls together in spirituality that is purely a riligious institution and has nothing to do with either secular law nor government' gets rather long. It would be handy if there was a word I could use for that.
