If the picture is stored on another site and doesn't require a password, you can literally just copy and paste a url into your post and it will take you directly to the picture..  If it is a picture on your profile, or that someone has sent to you here, then right click on the picture, choose properties, copy the url and paste it into your post like so:

there is a way to insert pictures directly into your post, but it is against TOS and would probably be removed..

Ty BossyShoeBitch.

What i'm asking for is the ability to provide the reader access to images through inserting a hyperlink rather than a URL.

Hyperlinks IMO improve the readability of the post but, more importantly, take the reader directly to the image in its original form, whereas URLs generally require an image first be uploaded in a hosting site and then linked.

Because of that, larger images are not clearly visible to the reader.

Thank you,

Click on the "insert link" box.

You have that ability.  Everyone here does.  You select the text you want to turn into a link then click the toolbar button to the right of the font color button and paste in your URL.

It's not generally required, it is always required.  The content still has to be uploaded somewhere whether the full URL is visible or just the anchor tag, what you're calling a 'hyperlink', is.  If you look at the URL http://www.nasa.gov/images/content/245912main_image_1107_800-600.jpg and this link to spacewalk, they both go to the same content, one just takes up less space.

You have to highlight the word you want to use, that was my first mistake.

CalifChick -> RE: How Do Y/you Insert a Hyperlink Into a Post? (6/18/2008 10:40:20 AM)

Copy (ctrl-c) the link you want. Come back here and highlight the word you want to be your hyperlink.  Click "insert link" then paste (ctrl-V) the link into the text box and click "ok".  If you get a popup blocker box instead (or a "scripted window"), click "temporarily allow", then click "insert link" again, then ctrl-v, then OK.
