Dude, you're just having one of those 70's flashback thangs. It'll blow over. Just ride it out. Don't try to "accomplish" anything today. Just be nice to yourself, skip the tea( it'll just make you more jittery) and stick to the Scotch. Having a girly friend come over and sit on your face for awhile may help too. Even sadists need to kick back and go passive once in awhile, yanno.

On my 6th Scotch and I find myself listening to 70s 3 piece type punk music played by a throw back British band that formed in the mid 90s called Mclusky. Cocksuking Blues and She Comes In Pieces are pretty awesome though. :

It must be a moon phase making today so crappy.

I feel hungover (and have had no alcohol) and I feel dehydrated (despite all that damn water I drank last night - I really gotta stop that).

I'm limping around like an old geezer (no offense, RS

), because I feel UP some stairs last night and pulled something in my leg and it hurts like a muther.

Nope… I can’t type fer shit. I can’t even type when I am sober! I only use 2 fingers on each hand. I don’t hunt & peck but you can bet your booty I don’t type like a real person does. Yep...

The 430 phone call from my son to tell me he was in jail......

The 6AM wake up by paniced crew man on a fishing boat all because there is a gale force wind blowing, horizontal rain, weather fax just dumped the course of a storm showing that we are between it and land fall.... (never figured out what the fuss was about, we either sink or stay afloat... nothing we could do about it, is there?)

The 60 pound dog bouncing on you to let you know the sun is up and its play time....this is after he kept you up all night crying because of thunder and lightning....

And oh yeah, the head nurse at ICU who calls at 430 to tell you that "you need to come up to the hospital and get your mother's personal items so they can transport her to the funeral home."
In those exact words, no "sorry I have to tell you that your mother passed away," nothing, just would I please come up and get her personal items....
I believe there is a special place in hell for people like that.

i have had to make those exact same calls and not an easy thing to do. i am so very sorry you had this unfortunate experience. i hope you will not let this one cold hearted cunt...i mean nurse ruin any future interactions with nurses. we aren't all lacking in compassion.

when my mother died, they didn't even bother to call me. i was her durable power of attorney. we found out 3 days after her death (on her birthday, no less) when my aunt called to ask if there was anything my mother needed when she came to visit. i should have pursued that one.
