I was getting like one or two a week, and I'd hit the spam button on yahoo and I've noticed steadily increasing amounts of spam coming in since. Sometimes like 10 pieces of spam in one day , which wasn't happening before.

I don't know about Yahoo, but Gmail is WONDERFUL about filtering spam from even dial-up-era email addresses.

on yahoo.. I was getting spam from quailty stocks or something... kept hitting spam, would get a dozen or more a day.. that lasted about a month, but I havent gotten anything from them for a few weeks now. Otherwise, I don't really get much spam

I gave up hitting the SPAM button and added my own filters to get rid of garbage emails. Has worked like a charm.

yeah ive noticed that recently.. its like instead of it goinginto the bulk folder its not taking and jsut sending it into the inbox.. several of the same messages.. that i know ive marked as spam... bug in yahoo maybe?? H >:)

nope..i dont use yahoo, aim, msn, icq or any other crap just for that reason.

Actually noticed that on my IM. would get these dorks saying they new me from HS, then giving me a link. I reported a few as spam, then got several more on offline messages. One of the reasons why I have been 'invisable' though unfortunately didn't work.

I am on AOL but was making the mistake of filling out the occasional survey. Almost immediately after responding to one, my mailbox would start filling up. I've started blocking religiously and refusing to click on any kind of survey and my bs mail dropped off.

Sage, I don't do serveys and anything. most of them are all scams. Yahoo is my email address for all the shit I don't want bogging down my real email address, like group emails and such.

Lately i've ben plagued by bots on Yahoo IM, using my old profile which i have turned off. i always click the 'report user' box before i hit 'ignore'. Maybe i should stop doing that? top of inbox yahoo mail has Inbox in big bold letters then a view all messages with a down symble then it says delete spam mark move. I select all the letters that are spam then hit spam. Set up your mail controls so that anything that isn't on your list goes to bulk mail/another folder, (which can be a pain if a new friend emails you.) I'm getting to where I am getting annoyed with my yahoo addy. Unfortunately out of boredom (or hope that it will work.) I occasionally fall for the survey thingy. Nothing but my own fault.

I've noticed a huge increase in spam on my accounts with different ISPs over the past few weeks. One regularly gets spam from Brazil based sites. And there is an increasing number of lottery, wills, business scams filling my inbox. Seems like the spam filters can't keep up.

I'm guessing it's a yahoo thing...seems like everytime I've reported spam, I end up with 3 or 4 of the identical e-mails in my box in like 5 minutes...I even set up the filters, and it still doesn't work. I emptied my box, went back in 6 hours later and had almost 30 of the stupid things! Talk about a pain in the arse! I've reported it to Yahoo, all I get back are those canned e-mail instructions....no real live person. Hopefully, they'll receive enough complaints about it and look into it.

With Yahoo, maybe they are overflowing with spam and every time you hit the spam button, more of the crap spills over the rim of the spam tub and ends up in your inbox. Never get spam with MSN or Gmail. I just use yahoo as a junk box now.
