An 8 year old girl was walking down a sidewalk in her neighborhood when a man driving a new pickup truck slowed down and pulled alongside her.

The man rolled down the passenger side window and asked, 'Want to go for a ride?' The little girl glanced at the man and then continued on her way.

The man then drove around the block and again pulled alongside the little girl.

Through the passenger side window the man asked, 'Are you sure you don't want a ride..? ..
You look like you might be getting tired of walking..'

The little girl scowled at the man and kept walking.

The man again drove off, only to pull alongside the little girl again about 15 minutes later. The man rolled the passenger side window down again and asked, 'Why don't you jump in...?

I just went to the store and bought some candy..'

The little girl stopped, and with a look of complete disgust on her face, shouted, 'Look, dad, YOU'RE the one who bought a Gosheddarned FORD - YOU ride in it!!!'

Oh come on sunshinemiss, if you have been a parent of a kid between the age of 8 to 15 you will have had times when you have tried to give your kid a ride and they will not want to get in for some wierd reason and the only thing you can do is keep going around the block asking them to get in and ride.
Sometimes they come out with the strangest reason for not wanting to get in for a ride the rest of the way home, and if you are going to say "but parents dont try bribe thier own kids" all I have to say is HA!
You are either lying to yourself, or have  very unusual kids, cuz kids know the way to get things they want is to convince Mommy or Daddy that they dont want to do something because they know that is how to get something they want for doing what you want.
You can call it a compromize reward, or be honest and just call it what it is, a bribe.
