Keep in mind that, if your poly thread is anywhere near the truth, that you have to keep in mind your contract will most likely be ignored completely if she is owned by someone else already. His say, and not yours, is going to bethe final one. You will have to run all ideas past him, or he may as well not own her. A contract is only as good as its enforcability, and if she is only yours parttime and under someone elses (or 2 other someones) then a contract is likely a waste of time aside from reading material.

WE live what basically amounts to a created life - not one of us was actually born into real slavery or real slave ownership. A "slave" is what the two of you decide a "slave" is. Communicate expectations and desires clearly, fairly, and succintly. If a big old set of rules penned in squid ink on antique parchment gets you both all hot and bothered, have fun. Otherwise, it seems a waste of precious time to hassle with.

Low priority compared to developing a slave who meets my needs and providing her with what she needs...besides, the end result is worth the wait.

great question - however this remains unsure that there is a "one size fits all" answer - this one believes that the question referenced is a matter to be negotiated between Master and slave - as those are the only one and a half opinions that matter - but only this ones humble opinion - not expert opinion

Rule #1) Please me as best your able consistent with not hurting yourself, myself or the marriage.
Rule #2) Use the generous IQ god gave you to work out, in conjunction with me, the details over time.

That's all I've got so far... seems to be working though.

As to a "contract" my girl and I keep it very simple. There were two things she agreed to appon becoming my slave:

1) Do her best to fulfill (the spirt) of any instruction or commands I give her.
2) Do her best to do everything she says she is going to do.

Beyond that, there are all kinds of things she is expected to do on a regular basis, and will get in different levels of trouble for not doing. I don't like to "codify" those things because it removes flexibility. For us we have a website that does frequently change that lists the expectations on her.

Phoenix and I took a contract from another dom that we respect and we tweaked it to suite our needs. Granted in the 3 years we were together it was changed periodically due to circumstance or expectations.

I agree with those who say to use your mind. If you are going to use someone else's contract - or a mixture of them, think carefully about each and every clause. Try to keep it short.

For insipiration and general information, Wipipedia, the specialist BDSM encyclopedia, has a topic on contracts that may be worth your time.

I agree with Diurnal Vampire. A nice short and understandable contract. Perhaps initial each one and that way you have taken the time to read it and in the future your Dom/Master has it for furture refernce, if needed.

For those that dislike the 128 basic rules for a slave, toss in a book on ettiquette. Should be only about 250 pages long. However when I was growing up, I was taught ettiquette and I could have written all the important parts in less than a page.

Take and use whatever you want as a starting point, even if it is just what the two of you havbe discussed in emails and then add or subtract as you feel is necessary for the two of you vs what someone else thinks is necessary.

Use any institutional code of conduct as a template and modify it.

First off.... the infamous list of "128 slaves rules", as a single unit, what a frekin joke. Some of them are good, some of them are not worth the ink it takes to print them. But in all fairness, and in agreeing with Archer, when I constructed my list of rules and expectations, the list of "128 rules" was one of three formats used in the begining, although after it was filtered, I think only about 20% remained, and most of those were rewriten. Its makes for an interesting starting point, but I wouldnt mimic them. Start small and focused on basics, then grow from there.
