Hang on, you mean the state in which I am drooling, glassy eyed, floating three feet above the (whatever), can't remember my existence?

subtee,

Yep, that is the place; errrrrrrr minus the drooling.

CP

Man! CM rocks!

Yesterday I learned I can't have long hair anymore, today I learned there is no drooling allowed in subspace!

Cool. I am a sponge. Pour it on; I'll soak it up.

[Edit for typo. Just couldn't let it be.]

You make it sound like something that every submissive should aspire to and that those who do not have the capacity are somehow missing out. In my dynamic i would be missing more by that disassociated floaty feeling. i don't have to reach "sub space" to be extremely fulfilled.

eyes,

Nope, nothing in the original thread that implies that one might be deficient for never having been there. But can it be denied that it is a nice place to visit. I personally know those on both sides of the issue, been there, not been there, and as you state, i could care less.

it is simply an exploration of the issue.

Bondage, gag, blindfold, intense stimuli, multiple orgasms. Afterwards I need the blindfold to be left on until I fall asleep under a heavy blanket. Water or hot decaf tea, if not both, are helpful to have right there next to me. And food whenever I wake up.

des,

it appears that the blindfold is a trigger and then blissful sleep!!

Some of this sounds like something I did in the sixties.

pepper,

Well of course he is, but can he not help to trigger a return to Valhalla?

I'm certain Gary could help me return to subspace, however, I will not allow that to occur.  It's not a matter of trust as I trust him completely.  It's more a matter of addiction.  I could easily be addicted to subspace.  I have battled a couple addictions in the past.  I won over those addictions but it was not easy.  I know deep inside that another addiction is NOT something I need to experience again.

So I have chosen to give up the narcotic trip to subspace for peace of mind.

ghettoloveinblo -> RE: Sub Space / ever been there? (6/18/2008 9:37:23 PM)

Hello Celtic. I believe subspace to be an area of the mind where (for me atleast), all pain is eroticized, and turn into complete and unbelievable pleasure. I also feel it is a mental state in which I truly submit, without protest. IMHO.

I do believe that your position is a first encounter for me on the subject. I do not understand it but of course accept it as you state it. good to see you again .

CdnExplorer -> RE: Sub Space / ever been there? (6/19/2008 1:25:43 PM)

I've spaced out twice in the last 8 months since I started playing. The first time was caused by a long period of constant pain. Basically I was tied in a stress position that had my legs crossed and my ankles near my chest. After a couple of hours I was so out of it I had trouble focusing on anything more than a couple feet away. The room was full of people, but as far as I could determine my Domme and I were the only ones there. The chemical high was enough that I shook like a leaf for about 45 mins afterwards. The second time was last weekend when I had two scenes in a row with different people. First was a violet wand scene, which didn't seem to put me all that close to spacing out. The scene following it was with someone who I feel a lot more submissive to, which I think is a key component for me. The scene consisted mainly of spanking. I think this time the space out was a combination of the length of play, the relaxing elements of the wand scene and the intense pain at the end of the spanking scene. It wasn't as intense as my first time but I did have trouble walking in a straight line immediately after we were done heh.

It really surprised me, I didn't think it was possible for me to get to that state through impact play.

ghetto,

Indeed you have a fine way of explaining the state of mind, are there any triggers that allow you to climb to that lofty place of mental euphoria?

Explorer,

I believe that most that get there have had some form of impact play. Thanks for sharing.

HieroV -> RE: Sub Space / ever been there? (6/19/2008 5:47:34 PM)

I'm lucky - I've been there a lot.

It’s pretty easy for me to go into subspace if I am in a committed relationship. If it has been a while since I’ve surrendered, the first times I scene with a dominant I go there pretty quickly with little effort which startles some. (A lot of it has to do with having complete trust in your Owner/Top/Dominant – casual play is hard for me because of this reason.) Sort of like not having a tolerance for alcohol because you don’t drink regularly. After some time (a few months) it is like I have built up a tolerance and it takes a little more effort to get there – but not much.

It sort of feels like you’re floating and your high on something. There are moments of extreme lucidity – I could swear I have left my body and I can watch myself and the one I am surrendering to interact. Other times you are there but distant and everything feels so good – so good that it can be scary until you surrender to it and it feels safe to be consumed by pleasure. (My pain threshold goes up a bit as well - although I am no pain slut.)

Some triggers:

  • Being fondled while kneeling

  • Hair being pulled/being made to felt helpless, under someone’s control

  • Going back and forth between pain and pleasure

  • Feeling treasured by word or action

  • There are others – it really depends on the person.

Being held afterwards and a little water is enough aftercare for me. I can feel very vulnerable coming back from that – because part of me is in no hurry to “return.”

Only be there once..  the floaty euphoria  wanting more pain  at the time to take me higher  but unable to even express it only could moan  ..nor did I want it to stop.. I came out pretty fast ... it was quite the experience [:D] it was during an outdoor bondage scene with me tied to a tree at the top of an steep embankment over looking a lake .. I can't say for sure what the trigger was other than possibly the enviroment and hearing his voice at the same time .. though aI have other pain play scenes I have not got close again  even though I very much want to be back there... the first few scenes afterward felt like a huge  letdown because I could not get back into space... in some ways I felt like a junkie wanting a fix.... I had the false expectation that it would happen all the time afterward once I experienced for the first time...and now know differently

Well it seems you the most fortunate having been there many times and with multiple triggers / Thanks for sharing.

azropedntied -> RE: Sub Space / ever been there? (6/19/2008 9:53:08 PM)

All i can say is HELL YEAH i have been there and its also easy for me to attain such a state with the right person . shame it has been way to long since i have been back to that blissful  realm .
To those who want to know  when it happens what it feels like and how to get there ..When = all a matter of personal  time  some fall into it with in seconds  some never do .
What it feels like again differs prom person to person  i define it as blissfull floating "ooh i am on fire  ok .. "
How do i get there ? Let go Let it happen , sounds  simple  but works for me .
The biggest problem with the whole thing , when you attain it you want it  more and more like a drug .shhh do not tell the  law makers  or they may tax it , or worse ban it .

Maya,

methinks that you have expressed the aura rather accurately, that so many have experienced and either did not recognize it for what it was; or took it as an anomoly.

Being a "D", I have observed it often and determined what the trigger was, yet upon a repeat of the same............ nothing. Therefore I conclude it really is a mind trigger more than anything else.

thanks for sharing.
