i'm completely bumfuddled as to whether to vote for McCain or Obama.  Leaving aside the issues, i have fundamental objections to both of them.

i think McCain, at 70, is just too old to serve even one term as President.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/01/25/politics/main2397926.shtml

i think Obama lacks sufficient experience to handle the responsibilities and complexities of the Presidency.

http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2008/may/28/owens-says-obama-lacks-experience/

(Use Y/yr Google-Fu and see how wide-spread this opinion is amoung pundits and elected officials.)

So here's the Question:

Which candidate for President will You vote for and why?

i am planning to cast my vote for Obama.

i am a card-carring member of the Repbulican Party; i harbor serious doubts about Obama's capabilities; i don't like all his positions on the issues...and yet...

i have become that bug-a-boo of politics, the 'single issue voter'.  i want U/us to extricate our troops from Iraq and Afganistan.

i believe if this does not happen soon, the Wars will come to resemble the Vietnam War.

i'm one unhappy voter this election cycle.

My choice is not an option on your poll.  It is none of the above for me.  For various reasons.  The most important, because my vote doesn't count anyway in the election.  So if I throw it away its no problem.
Even if one won by a landslide they still wouldn't win unless they win the electorates.

I could write in Pinksugarsub but, that wouldn't make headlines when the masses also write in names.  Chances are most who are as frustrated as I am will write in "none of the above"  if we make national news maybe, just maybe someone will take notice.

pahunkboy -> RE: Who Will Y/you Vote For For President? (6/18/2008 6:06:18 AM)

Ron Paul.

Both the above candidates are bent on furthering "empire" with no rational plan for the monetary system.  My vote could be a throw away vote- but so be it.

mccain is stale, obama needs more experience.

I made a huge ron paul sign side of my house.  Im ready for the code guy too.  [it] cant be a "sign" until it is there for 30 days, hence 29 days is legal.

pahunkboy -> RE: Who Will Y/you Vote For For President? (6/18/2008 6:07:28 AM)

Oh ALWAYS vote!    A name logged as a voting name gets more attention when writing congress.

suhlut -> RE: Who Will Y/you Vote For For President? (6/18/2008 6:25:00 AM)

i chose undecided as of yet..

Why? because neither have picked their vice president running mates yet. That counts for me.

Also, i will likely remain undecided right on up..till the moment i step into the booth.

Why?
because i dont like ANY of my choices

i have always been a straight line D voter, yep thats right, i simply go into the booth and choose Dem candidates... but i just dont like Obama

and its making me sick sick sick, to think that i just might force myself to vote republican this time. argh

What i dont get..is why there isnt an nomination from other parties.. an Independant candidate for instance..this time around?.. Why are we stuck with only two choices?

PaHunk, Obama doesn't need anymore experience, he's got the global socialist thing down pat!
He wants to double foreign aid.
I'll be voting for whoever the Constitutional Party runs for president.
He or she doesn't need to be a celebrity.

LaTigresse -> RE: Who Will Y/you Vote For For President? (6/18/2008 6:57:42 AM)

Obama is definately not my first choice but the very idea of McCain as president makes me want to puke. I'd rather have Jeb Bush, and that's saying ALOT.

slaveboyforyou -> RE: Who Will Y/you Vote For For President? (6/18/2008 7:06:42 AM)

I haven't made up my mind.  I'm about 90% sure it won't be for Obama.  I don't agree with McCain on a lot of things, but at least he's a realist.  I thought about the Libertarian Party, but they let that idiot Barr in.

I have got to the point where politics are just not a major concern of mine anymore.  It's depressing, and I have other things I'd rather think about.  I almost want to flip a coin when I vote in national elections.  No matter who wins, it won't make much difference.  Our country was bought and paid for a long time ago.

Not to stir the pot too much, but unless Obama has changed his stance on his website, while he does intend to take troops out of Iraq, but plans to redeploy in Afghanistan.  i had misinterpreted his intent also.

abcbsex -> RE: Who Will Y/you Vote For For President? (6/18/2008 7:56:26 AM)

I'm for Obama because of his reforms he wants to do with No Child Left Behind. Also, he wants to get troops out of the middle east, and he wants to increase healthcare for our poor. If that makes him a socialist, so what? It works for the Canadians!

puppen -> RE: Who Will Y/you Vote For For President? (6/18/2008 8:47:27 AM)

It's all crap and a half.

shivermetimbers -> RE: Who Will Y/you Vote For For President? (6/18/2008 9:11:16 AM)

If everyone stopped to listen to what they complain about the government, there is one candidate who truly is the everyman, and is the only man anyone should vote for .

RON PAUL

Every other candidate is just nothing more than a tool of which special interest gets special treatment, and consolidation of power in Washington, instead of the people.   A vote for RON PAUL  is a vote for freedom from oppressive government.

puppen -> RE: Who Will Y/you Vote For For President? (6/18/2008 9:16:02 AM)

I think they should all have a damn orgy, pop out a politically charged, talking baby, and make that tit -sucking twit the next president.

PA Hunk, when talking about elections and politics, I'm amazed how so many people, when I tell them about Ron Paul, their reaction?  Oh he has it right, he has great ideas, but he doesn't have a chance because people don't know him.

They then go on to say, well voting for him is a wasted vote.  Not at all.  If people voted who they truly wanted, regardless whether they are still running or not, that would send a HUGE message to politicians.  I just wish the average American voter had any clue about these candidates.  They listen to all the willy nilly crap that never will occur, instead of thinking, "Does anyone out there running have a clue about this neat little thing called the Constitution?"

Our guy may not win, but if all of us RON PAUL supporters show up and vote for him, a message will be sent to those two morons who are getting the Repuke and Dummycrat nominations that there is a growing swell of people in this country who are truly fed up with the loss of our liberties, and if they don't reckon with us now, they will reckon with us in the near future.

In recent years, W/e've had 'independent' or 'third party' candidates succeed at the state level; remember Jesse Ventura?

Historically, at the national level, the US has always had a two party 'motif' but the names of parties have changed, along with their platforms.  Remember the Whigs?
