Status: offline 		If a sub is going to be wearing a buttplug for a few hours (2-5 depending on the way things work out) are there any adittional precautions that need to be taken?

Status: offline 		I don't think a few hours (unless it's a few hours a day) will make a difference. (medically)

Status: offline 		Shouldn't be a problem.  When I have had to wear one all day or all night, he allowed me to remove it for 10 minutes every hour to allow for oxygen flow.  As long as the area can breathe...should be ok.

Status: offline 		Any anal play you should use plenty of lube and relube yourself when it feels dry then you will be ok. have worn it for over 24 hrs. at a time with only bathroom breaks and to relube and had no problems.

Status: offline 		you may want to keep in mind the long term effect of this.  certain muscles may stretch where bowel control  would be an issue for a period of time, until the sphincter mucles are "retrained" to do their job.

Status: offline 		A lot depends on the size, shape and material.  If the plug stretched the muscles around the anus, it can restrict the flow of blood to those muscles.  Over time, that can kill some of the tissue --  abscesses, weak muscles, loss of bowel control.  You get the picture. 

If the plug is cheap plastic, the chemicals in the plastic can leach out into rectal tissue.  A sub once told me that she could taste plastic after I kept her plugged for a couple hours with one of those things.  I don't know if that's harmful, but I used chrome eggs after that.

Vulcan chrome balls or eggs (www.leathermaster.com) seem to work pretty well.  You can run light nylon cord through the center of the eggs.  I slip a condom over the whole thing and lube it a lot. 

Once inserted the cord hangs out of your sub's butt.  You can use the cord to ease the thing back out or hang a weight on the cord and let your sub try to keep it in while they walk.  That's nice for a walk down town.

Status: offline 		I have worn one once for about 4 hours - it was a metal plug, though, because the cheap plastic ones do have chemicals that can be absorbed. Other than that, I just removed it twice for about 10 minutes to relube and get some oxygen flow. But I didn't have any issues with muscle control - it was a small plug. I think that as long as you don't go too big, there shouldn't be much of an issue.

He's talking 2-5 hours here. It's not the anal olympics.

I'd be more concerned with blood flow, and that's only an issue if the plug is big, IIRC.
