I'd go meet her before making any decision. Sometimes they pad the blurbs to get the animals adopted. And sometimes there just isn't any chemistry.

Plus there is nothing saying you can't have her and another Himalayan.

Life's too short not to have more animals to love.

You know how the pet stores allow shelters to show off their animals? That's where we saw her. We have met her.

Yeah, the only thing saying I can't have her AND a Himalayan is Honey Master...

Anyone wanna adopt Him?

*lol*

LeatherMasterKY -> RE: What's your opinion? (6/25/2008 10:23:18 AM)

"Honey Master" here.... I'm so glad that my slave makes my decision to adopt a(nother) kitty a matter for a poll on a public forum.

Anyway, all my kitties have been adopted from rescue shelters, so why should this one be any different? If this kitty needs a good home and she is a "good fit" with our 3 other cats and our 1.5 "terrorist" terriers (I'll let my slave explain this), then I guess we can adopt her this weekend. As for the flame-point Himalayan kitten, she may have to wait until one of our current kitties goes to that big litter box in the sky.

I was just getting support...[:D]

Uhhhhh, blushes, is this a "BUSTED!" moment?

LeatherMasterKY -> RE: What's your opinion? (6/25/2008 10:49:05 AM)

No, not really, my Chrissy-slave told me about this poll, but only after she posted it. Not that it matters much. I'm bascially a "Master of convenience" to my Chrissy-slave, that is to say my slave listens to me and obeys me only when she wants to (unless there is the threat of large amounts of very hurty punishment immediately at hand) (LOL)!!!

My ass would be in soooooooooo much trouble with Lumus in that type of situation..... And my breasts, and all sorts of other body parts.

P.S. I still love the kitteh..... Thank you for adopting her!!!!  She looks adorable!

spinninsweetness -> RE: What's your opinion? (6/25/2008 11:23:21 AM)

Me say- Vegas baybe. Because I'm allergic to cats, because they try to kill me and they scare me.

They EAT people.

Go Vegas.

xxblushesxx -> RE: What's your opinion? (6/25/2008 11:50:26 AM)

Pfffttt...He has given me permission to post freely. He doesn't really care. (maybe about me putting Him up for adoption, but...)

*lol*

LadyRainfire -> RE: What's your opinion? (6/25/2008 11:52:21 AM)

I can post freely...... (within certain parameters.....)

[:D]

Lashra -> RE: What's your opinion? (6/25/2008 12:21:33 PM)

I am going through something similiar. But everytime I put in an application the cat is adopted. So I've decided to buy a ragdoll from a breeder. I've always wanted one and I love kittens.  But in your case she looks adorable, I say go for it.

~Lashra

LadyRainfire -> RE: What's your opinion? (6/25/2008 12:30:37 PM)

[sm=hearts.gif]  Oooooo, ragdolls..... Love them!! Though i do have to say for the purebreds, my favourite is Persians. I'm hoping to make it to the National Cat Show in Toronto in August. Most of my animals (and those who know me know up till now I've always ran the local zoo!) have been rescues with the rare purebred. Even most of my purebreds have been rescues.

Lashra, have you tried contacting a breed rescue? I know the Persian/Himmie rescue, I'd be glad to try to find out if there's a Ragdoll rescue....

xxblushesxx -> RE: What's your opinion? (6/25/2008 12:35:49 PM)

Himalayans are Persians, but with more and better personality. I HIGHLY recommend Himalayans to anyone who is looking.

LadyRainfire -> RE: What's your opinion? (6/25/2008 12:39:17 PM)

Actually, they're exactly the same, only difference is colour points, Christina. According to TICA and CFA... If you talk to breeders or go to shows, you'll hear them all called Persians, just referred to their colour points. (I was pointedly corrected, pun intended, at a recent cat show in Idaho!) Breed standards are exactly the same except for fur colour.

Yes, yes, I know.... I hang around the cat shows too much. *sighs*  Gods, I hope I get to go to Toronto! The Canadian National Cat Show....... *drools*

xxblushesxx -> RE: What's your opinion? (6/25/2008 12:49:28 PM)

I used to breed Himalayans.
I *know* they are *supposed* to be the same, but that is not the case, in my experience.
The Himalayans have more energy, talk more (generally) and tend to follow their owner around. The ones I've had are also better at traveling, meeting new people, and they even 'fetched' rolled up socks. (surprised the c**p out of me!)
The Persians I have had, have been cute, and pretty sweet, but did not have that magnetic Himalayan personality. (which kind of surprised me, because it was what I expected.)

petdave -> RE: What's your opinion? (6/25/2008 4:25:38 PM)

So are Himalayan purebreds like the show Persians that need constant fur maintenance and have lots of eye problems? i thought they were Persian hybrids of some sort.

And let me just add... BIRMANS RULE! [8D]

PanthersMom -> RE: What's your opinion? (6/25/2008 4:57:40 PM)

i have 4 dsh's and they're the best, lots of personality and love to give.
PM

xxblushesxx -> RE: What's your opinion? (6/25/2008 5:46:23 PM)

Sigh...she was adopted yesterday. I knew I should go put in the app. as soon as He said yes. The good news is she has a good home.

Yes, Himalayans began as a cross between Siamese and Persians. Technically, they are Persians, but, they are Persians with a twist.

I'm gonna go cry now...

Ok, not cry...just pout.
