i still maintain that, if it were between being made to get "marked" in any way or give up my collar, i would miss my Mistress, but i would choose the latter.

i think i have meet the one but am not sure . we both had a mutual attraction to each other when we 1st meet and i long to hear his voice. I have passed both test he has giving me . would it be wrong to ask him to train me again before i took his collar and what if he dont want to collar me he just wants me for play. I dont wnt to be just for play i want for eternity to give my one and only my heart and soul body and mind. Angel of Darkness 1

I hope it's ok for me to post here but I see other subs have so hopefully it is ... I have my Master's initials tattooed on my lower butt cheek - as a rule not visible but in a situation where said butt cheek is visible - well it is - and that usually works out fine!

Tats or other markings of ownership can be good though personally I prefer to be discrete about it. So any ownership markings for me would be either in a place that can be hidden or something unassuming. Gorean marking's (No I'm not really Gorean 24/7 but I have read most of the books and RP it) are good for that. The average person isn't going to see what is basically a K, a dina, one of the wagon peoples brands, or any of the other Gorean slave brands (either there as a true brand or just as a tat) and know what it means. So something discrete most people aren't going to know what it mean's or someplace easily covered up for day to day out in the vanilla world life is what someone in my collar might get. Also some couples both in and out of the lifestyle seem to be in a big hurry to get tat's either of ownership or outside of the lifestyle the name of the other person. I always found rushing to get that done counter productive since many tat's outlive a lot of those relationships so you are stuck with the name of someone you now cant stand. More then a few people I know have had to find new tat's to get over them to cover them up.

As a Professional Tattooist, I can make a few educated remarks on this subject. Where you are marked depends on the dynamics of each individual relationship. That being said, common sense says that these markings should be in either an inconspicuous place(if even remotely BDSM themed)or tastefully done and visible to the public. Real life is real life, and workplaces and police sometimes don't look blindly at tattoos and this can cause us grief. I'm tattooed pretty much all over my body, and it has caused a lot of problems in various places and situations. I've marked Gorean slaves for their masters, I've marked my own girls, and I have marked "masters", everyone has a different way of doing things in their BDSM world so there is no "pat" answer to the original question. I have ownership tattoos one on my buttock and a second on my right lower calf both clearly indicate I am an owned slave obviously the one on my calf shows most of the time which was my masters plan he wanted me marked for public viewing. What other masters and slaves do is really up to them. Maxiann

Maxiann, I am currently being tattooed for someone who wants to have his own mark on me. What mark did you have that clearly marks you are a owned slave as we are having difficulty deciding what I should have for his mark on me and where. Jodie x

It all depends on each and every couple, for instance with myself, my Master has not and will not put put any marks on me which are visible to the vanilla world, he has a high powered position and we have to go to many black tie functions and it would cause too much gossip to have a mark on me which is visible.

Traditionally, I believe, the brand/tattoo is placed high on the outer thigh which for me at least is an ideal place because in "polite company" it is hidden by a skirt and yet with the right dress it can be exposed if the side is opened to the hip. I'm personally not a huge fan of brands but I haven't the experience of them where as a good tattoo tends to me more eye catching. High on the inner thigh I reserve for marking regularly with my teeth. [;)][8\|][:D]

Hi, my current Dom brings up he would like to get me marked somewhere in a discreet place, but the thing is, our relationship is still fairly new. It being one of my limits---> permanent body marring, I am unsure of how definant I want to be going to be in this matter. (Him and I are going to be living together permanently in less than two days so this subject may come up again and this time I can't exactly blow it off and go home.) He was made aware from the beginning that it was one of my hard limits. ----> I just spent the past year getting laser tatoo removal treatments that were extremely painful and expensive. One one of them was a celtic armband with a EX-boyfriends initial encased in it. (He got an identical one with my initial in it ...eyeroll ~ we were young and dumb and sooooo IN LOVE at the time <grins>) At the time I was positive that he and I were going to be together for the rest of our lives and live happily ever after .. blah blah blah. It lasted another six months, I found out he cheated on me, got her pregnant and they had a bouncing baby girl nine months later that I wanted nothing to do with or him either for that matter. So I was left with a lovely reminder of him, his betrayal a broken heart and lived with it for many years afterwards. So discreet or not discreet ... I would always be able to see it. (or know that its there) And if and when my Dom may be gone from my life, it wouldn't matter if anyone else could see it or not it. But I always would, and it has the very high chance of being a horrible, constant reminder why we arnt together anymore.
