lally3 -> on being too fat (6/29/2008 9:56:09 AM)

obesity on the whole is caused by metabolism, its a fact that most people with weight issues metabolise their food slower, thin people often eat more than overweight people and get away with it because they metabolise their food more quickly, overweight people generally have tried so many diets their bodies have got used to them and just dont respond anymore.

very often being overweight is a direct result of low self esteem, lonlyness, stress, stress being one process that can actually put weight on due to metabolic disturbances, sometimes it can be due to low thyroid output, hormonal changes and being on the pill.

being fat isnt something a person chooses for themselves and to be told that youre just a lazy, donut eating slob isnt going to help anyone with low self esteem problems.

i remember saying this before somewhere, but telling a submissive that she is too fat, irrespective of her ability to submit, how the dynamic might work, her personality and all of the other great things about her - why isnt it something that some Dominants just cant see beyond, when diet an exercise programme and lots of support could help her to get healthy and happy about herself again.

theres no question in my mind that obese is not good, its bad for your health and it is for the majority something that can be dealt with.  but it is a fact that people with slow metabolism will always have a slower metabolism regardless of exercise, they will always be more likely to put weight on and as such they will always struggle.

as someone whose weight has fluctuated these past couple of years i can attest to the fact that the constant struggle to stay fit and slim should not be underestimated and its not something to slam a person for.

Oh yeah, another fat thread to keep the mods busy...........

Some can't see past it, because they don't understand that there could be a number of reasons for the excess weight, or because they just don't want to. They have an idea of what physical form they desire, and they want it sooner than later. That isn't wrong, it just is, for some.

Actually yes it is something I have chosen for myself. I refuse to eat right I refuse to exorcise And so there for I choose to be fat. It's not medical, it's not  metabalisim problems, it's nothing but the fact I choose not to do anything about being fat. I got fat by stuffing my face day twice a day in and day out for about a year strait. by stuffing my face I mean having like 6 helpings. mine  my seconds and 4 other people's plates. NowI didn't intend to get fat, but I did.

and I refuse to care that it bothers others I am fat.

as respectfully as possible, fully aware that this will be flamed

people who are overweight HAVE made that choice for themselves. It might not have been easy to resist the other option, it might have been an unconscious choice, whatever

I choose to put the extra portion of food on my plate, I choose to eat the sugary snack at work, I choose to ignore the scale creeping up each week, In choose to do no exercise, I choose to drink coke rather than diet coke, and fast food rather than salad, I choose not to take myself in hand, I choose not to address the situation ... I choose to get.

I made a choice ... I am battling with my weight ... like its an actual battle. I am in the gym everyday for over an hour, working out hard and visualising fat burning off my body, I am counting every calorie that goes into my body .. and week on week on week for the last 3 months my weight has dropped.

being overweight ... is a choice ... It may not be a nice choice .. but it is one.

i totally agree with you softness - i am overweight, and its because i eat.  food is tasty, and i love it, and i eat it, therefore i am fat. I too have started doing something about it  - i bought a bike and joined Curves, and hope i have the will power to stick to it. I don't want to be model thin - just able to buy clothes from the regular womens departments - as opposed to the big womens. I also don't want to be hot all the time. I hate to sweat - so i am going to the gym three times a week to sweat deliberately.
I'm not going to stop eating - but will endevor to eat a bit less.
My eating is a habit, and i am trying to amend it a little.
