if you consider yourself a switch, do you ever find that your dominant side makes it harder for someone else to to be dominant over you?

if so - did you find a resolution?

It makes it harder in the sense that I won't let just anyone do it and I could never be someone's doormat.

But if the person and situation is right I have no problem and highly enjoy being dominated.

I would echo Usako on that.   I have a harder time letting someone dominate me but if I trust them then I have few limits and can be completly submissive.
I suppose I am  more picky on who I let Dom me then a true sub.  But once I decide to sub all bets are off ;)

I find that it's harder for people to successfully Top me... and I mean Top. Not Dominate, not Own.. just Top. People who want to play at D/s are lost, when it comes to me, because I have a very strong, forceful personality. I don't mean to, but I see it as a contest, and work to overcome the Top.

That being said- when I meet someone that inspires my submission.. that inspires me to give myself to Him and just serve... no. I am submissive, and that's it.

The dominant side of my personality just makes meeting that sort of person harder.

I pretty much echo what's been said already.

I treat people I meet as human beings first and foremost.  I prefer to be treated as such first and foremost as well.

I'm not your Domme/Owner/Mistress and I'm not your sub/slave/pet.  Don't treat me like I am.

If someone inspires in me to swing one way or the other, cool beans.  It's the person as a whole once I get to know them that dictates the dynamic.  One that inspires me to assert myself as a dominant personality to their submissive personality, or offer myself as a submissive personality to their dominant personality.  But that comes after getting to know the person first.

Honey, you obviously missed the "want to be used as a toilet fetish" thread or "where do I get instructions on setting my sub on fire" thread. LOL

Thank you, DelRay for that one.

i am a switch...though if you saw me with my Master you wouldn't believe i can be Domme.  He effects me in ways i can't explain.  He effectively took my Domme boots off so to speak.  And he did it so softly and gently.  All my relationships til now failed.  i managed to dominate every man i was with. He is the first to love how i am...he expects me to be strong and dominant in all my relationships...i am submissive to him only.  It is my gift to him.  Although my hard head gets me in trouble sometimes and i can be very impatient but he works with me helping me maintain the balance.  He is consistent, patient and firm.  He appreciates that part of me....he is much softer and gentler in his guidance but with a strength noone else posessed.  He is confident in himself and embraces my strength.  He is amazing, i have been with doms before who tried to "force" submission into me, he is just my Master/Daddy, it is very easy to be submissive to him.  My reaction to him surprises even me sometimes.  i think alot of it is the chemistry a switch has with someone.  Funny...it is his "soft" way of dealing with me that has binded me so tightly to him.

Wow!  Congratulations!  It sounds like you do have the perfect situation there.

I too must echo all that has been said here.  I love being a sub to the "right person" but I am also very strong willed and independant which makes it hard for me to sub to just anyone (unless purely for a play scene).  I have only ever been truly dominated by one Master and it seemed that even then I found ways to disobey ...

And so I stepped in to the switch role.  I hope to find myself in this role and learn to dominate others but still sub when the time and person is right ...

i also can echo the others here.   i am switch in the same way as hiswetness is, but i am  not with anyone.  And i also managed to be in the dominant role with almost everyone i have been with as well.  That is one level of all of this.  But we are switches,  i believe, partly because we refuse to be frozen into a role and prefer to grow uncensored, at least in our minds.  i think of myself as a process, not something which is never changing.
