While perhaps not necessarily the news, it seems that the author of the xkcd is into, at the very least, some light bondage (or at least his girlfriend is :).

There is another strip, Savvie and Lacey, about two women one of whom is a domme and the other a sub. It's quite funny, and i like the backstory, but unfortunately it hasn't been updated in a very long time. Here is a link to the first page.
