I don't wear much make-up but Master would like me to purchase bright red lipstick. I generally just wear chapstick so any help with favorite brands would be appreciated.

Thanks!

honestly i like wet and wild, especially if you're attempting to find colors that match your skin tone. you can then take that tube and find a similar color in a more expensive brand (and i've heard that a lot make up artists use cheap make up for this reason). i like rimmel too. but then i'm working off of a grad school budget and would rather put the money into skin care and good powder and foundation

There is no 'long-lasting' lipstick on the market I'm aware of that doesn't dry out the lips, which I cannot abide.

I like Lancome -- pricey but in this case, you get what you pay for.  Just be sure to check the color in natural, as well as flourescent light.  Red is a tough color.

I have a vast assortment of red lipsticks, all claiming to be red. My favorite so far has been L'oreal color riche true red. It goes on a little pink without lipliner, so a deep cranberry lipliner helps it turn out a very vibrant red. It has a nice watermelon-like scent to it and will wear off before it dries out your lips. Best of luck!

I don't necessarily agree that higher price necessarily means better or more durable about 30 years ago my favorite was the Estee Lauder line..now nice tube nice smell but does not last anyway near like it used to .. I have several brands here on hand but my favorite for intensity and duration is maybelline moisture extreme in the  midnight red   which is a dark red, I find even within the same brand different shades of colour can have differing lasting times ..so if you find something you like stock up as probably a year or 2 down the road they will replace with a new and improved formula which will probably not be as good

Almay has cosmetics that change color to match your skin tone.  I think they also have lipstick in the line.  If you don't know what color to pick, that might be a good place to start.  I prefer L'Oreal, Almay, and Neutragena brands because they tend to cause fewer allergic reactions for me.

Sephora has some terrific lipsticks, they are pricy but often have sales. Those seem to last the longest without drying for me.

Burt's Bees makes a nice lip shimmer in several shades.  It does not cover like a lipstick, but is really shiney and keeps your lips moist!  ( i LOVE it!)

Best,

Lancome "Jezabel" -- i am wearing it in my profile photo.

i call it "Come Fuck Me, Red".

Sephora is your best bet for shopping around.... lots of open stuff to sample so if you dont wear a ton of makeup itll give you a chance to play before you buy. Mac is also good b/c they have "cosmeticians" on hand to help give you pointers on what looks good for you and can help you get the right look....
Both stores are a bit pricey but since you have the chance to try things out before you buy them it may be cheaper than going through 2 or 3 $6 tubes of lipstick from CVS

I like Manic Panic Vampire Red. This is a matte red, and actually works very well with a lip-gloss over the top. They have a couple of other reds that are true reds as well, but this is my favorite.

Neutragena comes in mostly neutral tones but I have found their lipsticks (the ones in the silver tubes) to be a lot like Burt's Bees lip shimmers. They moisturize and have a slight tingle. I don't like most lipsticks because they smell or taste horrible, so horrible that I wonder what is actually in them. I am allergic to almost everything but I can wear the Neurtragena lipsticks.

Love that jezebel red on you pet! :)

If you can find it. I like Mirani brand. They have a lip pencil. That really stays on well. they have a color called spanish Red. In Leiu of that, a lip pencil in red. You color in the entire lip then put red lipstick over it. With the lip liner filling in the whole lip it will look like you are wearing liupstick long after others have worn off.
