They must also allow campground fires, all though this being the height of summer fires an all I'd understand if for now, no fires were allowed. And being near a lake or some kind of swimming access would be nice, but isn't nessisary.

check with the u s forest service or maybe google it for campsites around sacramento

Snappy I did google, but a lot of what I was coming back with was unrelated junk like merry hill school, for one example and RV camp grounds. The forrest services would prolly pan out more though.

FR

There's a nice campground that we go to right outside of Sacramento near Cache Creek called Rumsy. It's a campground that allows fires and has fire pits at each individual site. They sell wood and ice, there is a creek for getting wet in. It's good old fashioned camping.

Wishing you well,
~twinkle

I remember I used to love camping as a kid, and it's not something I've done for litterally years and years. Would also maybe be an enexpensive and fun get away* cost of gas not included*

Are you interested in the foothills?  There are KOA's in Auburn, Oroville, Placerville, West Sac...etc.

There's American River Canyon in Auburn

There's camping at Folsom Lake

There's camping at the Colusa-Sacramento River, in Colusa.

There is a great camp ground at Collins Lake right outside Marysville... really nice place.

Lake Oroville also has great camping

There are also places along the Sac river that offers camping
Good luck with your search

Ownedgirlie,  Foothills would be good when we have decent amount of time to get away! My family an I have done KOA camping isn't exactly the rustic camping I had in mind.:)

Camping?  Why on earth would you want to do that?
There's no where to plug in the blow dryer.

I agree about KOA.  But the foothills is only about 30-45 minutes from you.  How much time ya need?  [8D]

og, they only give daddy one day off a week any more. and they;ve got him coming and going at all odd hours sometimes 10 am to whenever pm at night, or sometimes 5 pm  to 12 pm lol.

I'd like maybe 3 -4 days away, We'd need one day to pack the car and get there, and 2 days to chill out.

I don't use blow dryers on my hair. Blowdryers and other styling tools are ver harsh on the hair and can damage the hair. I take pride in using no tools or chemicals in my hair sept shampoo and conditioner, and a brush.

Also means when I go on a trip I have less to pack, and spend virtually no money on hair care, since someone else buys the shampoo I use:D
